Department
Within Vanderlande Industries, the Customer Centre International is responsible for the turn key project sales, execution and customer services of Baggage Handling Systems on airports worldwide. The main markets are located in Europe, Russia, India, the Middle East, South-East Asia, Africa and Brazil.
The Customer Services department is responsible for the sales and execution of all after sales services. Our goal is to improve the performance of our customers’ processes and their baggage handling systems every day by supplying the full range of services. The department is located at the headquarters in Veghel with satellites at our customers where our maintenance and operations teams support the customer 24/7. 250 service engineers work around the globe with our customers to secure their business optimally.
With our large installed base, there is a big potential in helping our customers with system modifications, upgrades and retrofits during the complete life cycle of the Baggage Handling Systems. To increase our Life Cycle Services business and better support our customers, we are currently recruiting for an additional Life Cycle Services engineer with an affinity for software controls.
Scope of the job
The Life Cycle Services Engineer is responsible for the sales and execution of the Life Cycle Services business. This includes system Retrofits, Modifications and Revisions. The proposals are based on customer requests via the Account Manager and by pushing opportunities via installed base analyses.
Key responsibilities of the Life Cycle Services Engineer are:
Commercial:
· Responsible for the preparation and management of the quotations for Life Cycle Services
· Continuously challenge and support the Account Managers in selling more Life Cycle products based on added value propositions
· Create Life Cycle plans for our customers and assist the Account Manager with a budgetting plan for their customers
· Responsible for costing and pricing calculations, target setting towards our internal and external suppliers
· Dealing with all aspects like legal, finance and supply chain to come to the winning and risk averse proposal
· Present Life Cycle solutions at our customers
Project execution:
· Responsible for the execution of the sold Life Cycle Services projects as a Project Manager
· Management and setup of project team, planning, budget, quality and health & safety
Background
You have a proven track record in (controls) engineering in Materials Handling Systems and you have a commerical attitude. Working within an international and multicultural environment is well known to you. We believe the right candidate at least meets the following requirements:
· BA degree / University degree in Controls Engineering
· 5 years of experience in international engineering with technical systems
· Affinity with and understanding of airport logistic processes and technology
· Commercial and customer oriented attitude
· Proven experience with Project Management
· Proven experience with financial and contractual conditions and tender processes
· Language skills: English, fluently in writing and speaking.
· Since this role has an international scope we expect that you are willing to travel internationally approximately 20% of your time
