PLC Development Engineer

Vanderlande Industries bekleedt een toonaangevende positie in de internationale wereld van “material handling”. Deze positie maakt het noodzakelijk om voortdurend te investeren in nieuwe en onderscheidende producten en technologieën. Dat is het werkterrein van Research & Development. R&D ontwikkelt en zoekt continu naar mogelijkheden om deze positie te versterken middels nieuwe en onderscheidende producten.

 

De functie

Als Control Development Engineer ontwerp, realiseer en test je projectmatig PLC besturingssystemen die voldoen aan hoge kwaliteitsnormen. In het multidisciplinaire projectteam werk je samen met je teamleden aan een efficiënte en effectieve oplossingen.
De ontwikkelde producten worden, als standaard bouwstenen, door de Engineering organisatie toegepast en geïntegreerd in systemen bij onze klanten. Daar waar nodig ondersteun je de Project Engineers bij het integratieproces.

 

Taken / verantwoordelijkheden

·         Opstellen/beoordelen van requirements

·         Ontwerpen/implementeren van software concepten

·         Kwaliteitsbewaking door middel van versie beheer en testen van de ontwikkelde software

·         Opleveren van technische documentatie inclusief functionele specificaties

·         Verzorgen van juiste feedback over voortgang, planning en risico's.

·         Analyseren van problemen, bijbehorend plan van aanpak formuleren om het probleem op te lossen.

·         Analyseren structurele knelpunten in proces en tooling, komt met uitgewerkte verbetervoorstellen

 

Profiel

·         HBO / WO opleiding richting technische automatisering, technische computerkunde, elektrotechniek of besturingstechniek

·      Minimaal 3-5 jaar werkervaring in een besturingstechnische omgeving

·      Specialistische kennis en ervaring van eigen domeingebied:

o   PLC besturingssystemen (SIEMENS S7)

o   Elektromechanische toepassingen

·      Softwareontwikkeling en toepassen van nieuwe technologieën is een uitdaging voor je

·      Je beschikt over analytisch denkvermogen, inventiviteit en creativiteit

·      Inzicht in de integratie en samenwerking van producten tot een werkend systeem.

·      Je bekijkt zaken kritisch en stelt deze eventueel ter discussie

·      Je kijkt over de grenzen van je eigen vakgebied heen 

·      Je werkt goed samen met interne klanten en je bent een teamplayer en je bent bereid om 20% van jou tijd te reizen. Je beheerst van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal.

The Department

Vanderlande is a international player in the world of material handling systems. This position requires continuous investment in new products and technologies and is where our Research & Development department plays a key role.  R&D continuously develops and searches for new technical possibilities in order to strengthen our position and to continue to differentiate our products.

 

The function

The PLC Software Engineer R&D will work within project teams to design, realize and test high quality PLC control systems.  You will work on efficient and effective solutions together with your team members within multi-disciplinary project teams. The products developed are used as standard building blocks for the Engineering organization, these are lader adapted and re-integrated in our customer’s systems.  When required you will support the Project Engineers in the integration process.

 

Your role be include the following tasks: 

Set up and review requirements. Design and implement software concepts. Control quality and testing of developed software. Develop technical documentation including functional specifications.  Ensure feedback during planning, development and risk analysis. Analyse and solve problems in a structured way.  Analyse structured bottlenecks in processes and tooling and generate recommendations for process improvement.

 

Your profile

  • You have a Bachelors or Masters degree (BSc., or MSc.,) in industrial automatization, controls or electronics engineering.
  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years software development experience in a controls environment.
  • You have specialist knowledge of PLC control systems (SIEMENS S7) and electromechanical applications
  • You enjoy the challenge of developing new software development for new technologies
  • You  are analytical, inventive and creative
  • You have experience in the integration and compiling of products into a complete system
  • You are critical and inquisitive and you think out of the box
  • You work well with internal customers and you are a teamplayer
  • You can travel up to a  maximum of 20% of your time
