Department Description
The Software house Normal & Large Projects Department consists of around 30 Software developers, testers architects and project leaders. The scope of this department is to develop High Level Control software solutions for Medium to Large projects in the domain of Baggage Handling and Parcel & Postal Systems. Recently, the Department has formally achieved level 2 of CMMi.
For the baggage market a number of standard solutions exist, consisting of the SAC Basic, SAC Advanced, (Sortation Allocation Computer), BPI (Business Process intelligence) and MCS (Manual coding Stations).
For the Parcel & Postal market the standard solutions are the DS Basic, DC Advanced (Destination Server), the DS Light, and BPI.
Task Description
The Software Project Leader will lead Software Development projects for Baggage Handling Systems and Parcel & Postal systems. These software projects are part of multidisciplinary overall projects (Mechanical, electromechanical/safety, SCADA, Low Level control and High Level Control). Typically these projects have a duration of 3 to 6 months of development and testing, and subsequently commissioning and integration on site. The responsibilities will be to lead the software project development team (4 to 10 staff) day to day, planning & tracking, change management, progress reporting and budget reporting
Your Profile
- Project management experience with focus on result
- Experience in a CMMi level 2 environment (and a pragmatic approach to maintain this level)
- Broad experience in industrial environments, preferably the baggage handling domain
- Team player with ability to serve both overall project and SWH department interests
- Oracle/Java development experience
- Integration / deployment experience
- Communication and leadership skills
- Pragmatic and hands on attitude
- Overview of, and affinity with Configuration Management,
- Requirements Management and Telelogic tooling (DOORS / Synergy) and Quality Center
- Good command of English
