Group Finance & Control coordinates and sets out the planning & control cycle for Vanderlande Industries’ worldwide organization. This cycle includes the annual budgets, the monthly financial reports, the external quarterly reports and the annual accounts. Group Finance & Control actively participates in the quotation process for medium and large projects and initiates specific financial improvement processes. Finally, it is also responsible for the Treasury function.
The Internal Audit department is located within Group Finance & Control and carries out financial and operational audits at all of the group’s branches in consultation with the external accountant. The range of tasks and authority, therefore, spans the total scale of financial functions and can be labelled as extremely broad and challenging.
Group Finance & Control employees are financial professionals with a healthy ambition who are flexible, enjoy working in a team and can quickly react to events. Furthermore, they are not afraid - despite the fact that it is a staff function - to accept (joint) responsibility and to take decisions. Internally, Group Finance & Control works with all the local financial departments at the various Customer Centres and business units. As a result of the varied aspects of the job, there is also frequent contact with all the other national and international functional departments, such as Procurement, R&D, Engineering, Project Management and Manufacturing.
Most of the Group Finance & Control employees have to regularly travel abroad, although this varies greatly between each employee: for some, it will only be a couple of days a year, whilst for others, it will frequently be a couple of days a month. In particular, support for Major Projects and Internal Audits involves working abroad. This usually means being away from home for a couple of days with a large amount of external responsibility on behalf of Vanderlande Industries.
