Research & Development

Occupying the most prominent position in the international world of material handling makes it essential to continuously invest in new and distinguishing products and technologies. This is the field of Research & Development (R&D).

In the R&D department, we work on the development of mechanical and control components. That means that we both improve existing products and develop new products in the broadest sense of the word. This also includes carrying out feasibility studies and performing market analyses.

We employ the ‘closed-loop’ R&D method, which means that we follow our products from the initial idea to the final product and put all the experience that we gain during the process back into our products. This not only happens with our software products, but also with our mechanical products. This ‘closed-loop’ development is the fundamental difference between an ad hoc solution for a single customer and using the knowledge repeatedly and, consequently, incrementally improving the product with each project.

The department works in multidisciplinary project teams. These teams come up with new solutions using their in-depth knowledge of and experience with products, markets, customers and technologies. The teams operate on a project basis, which means that a new team is put together every time a new R&D project begins. As a result, there are always new challenges for you to tackle and you have the opportunity to increase your knowledge and broaden your experience.

More than 60 people work within the R&D department. Most of them have an HTS (Institute of Technology) or TU (University of Technology) degree and approximately half of those have a control technology background. The department offers good opportunities for first-time employees. An R&D employee is innovative, clever, proactive, has a strong personality and a strong drive and can think and work from the definition of a problem to the final result.
