Job Description

Role Profile

Title: Service Technician III (HAY 20)

Reports to: Team Leader

Context: Working within Asda Warrington site the service technician will be performing duties to ensure productivity and output, equipment availability, health & safety compliance, quality, Maximo reporting and team working is optimised in accordance with agreed timescales.

To be proficient in all aspects of the operational procedures involving jam busting.

Work in partnership with the customer

To come up with continuous improvements on equipment and advise the Team Leader

To record all work carried out to ensure utilisation.

To be conversant and capable of working in all areas:

Conveyors

Automatic storage cranes

Individual Carrier Systems

Robotic handling machinery

Manual handling aids

Build Reputation with Customers

Interface to customer in a Professional and Courteous Manner either face to face, telephone, email.

Ensure contract SLAs are consistently achieved and improved

Drive to Win

Perform planned preventative maintenance, corrective and reactive maintenance in timely manner as required. Record all work done and parts used in CMMS system (Maximo) where applicable when supporting engineers.

Team Play

Provide cover for other service technicians / Shifts when necessary.

Ensure thorough knowledge transfer through sharing of knowledge and information.

Every day better

Carry out routine maintenance duties including, but not limited to: operational checks, functionality checks, cleaning, adjustment, lubrication and monitoring. Look to find root cause of issues and find permanent solutions to issues encountered.

Ensure all company legislative Health & Safety regulations and policies are maintained. Work in a safe considerate manner and leave all work areas clean and tidy at all times

Skill & Experience:

Demonstrate problem/fault fining skills. Understand how to collect, validate sufficient information to carry out effective root cause analysis and develop recommendations for implementation

Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate precisely both in writing and verbally at all levels

Be computer literate

Ability to read and interpret drawings or SCADA screens

Be able to plan and prioritise work load

Be able to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team

Be of smart appearance and behave professionally and be respectful to all people

Work overtime as required

Essential

A proactive approach to fault finding alongside excellent communication skills

Be a team player with a flexible and pragmatic attitude

Desirable

Experience of working with automation
