You will be responsible for the overall performance of the Global Spare Parts department. Your challenge is to boast global sales to double current business. Making the next step in our Servitization journey: Spare Parts as a business.

Key words: sales forecast, customer satisfaction, profitability, marketing programs, pricing, purchasing, inventory control and web shop.

Life Cycle Services is positioned in our BU Supply, a team of 1100+ people that partners with our project- and service teams to provide a reliable, competitive and flexible supply of goods, hours and services. to 270+ concurrent projects and an installed base of 131 sites

We offer a broad range of spare parts-related services to satisfy all our customer needs. Our global source-and-supply programmes ensures competitive prices and fast delivery times. In addition, our management services provide peace of mind for the availability of the parts required.

Vanderlande’s spare parts services include:

  • One-stop shop – replacement items available at our web shop, from spare parts to tools

  • Spare parts packages – tailor-made solution consisting of the parts that are most essential to a specific customer

  • Consignment services – either managed by Vanderlande at your site – or on your behalf – from a local warehouse

  • Repair services – extended to all electrical components

  • Storeroom management – easy and rapid access to a large inventory when required

  • Inventory control – maintains order in storerooms by ensuring you have the optimum stock levels of appropriate parts.

Your position

Parts Sales Management

  • Develop and implement a multiple year sales & business plan to achieve our spare parts  business objectives

  • Drive global sales, monitor, track and review sales performance and take necessary actions to ensure that goals are met

  • Identify, develop and implement marketing strategies to maintain Vanderlande’s competitiveness; retain existing customers; and add new customers to increase our company's market share.

  • Establish and maintain excellent relationship with business associates, e.g. customers, internal and external colleagues, etc.

  • Develop and implement new parts sales initiatives aimed at increasing parts sales revenue

  • Leverage systemize tracking of new equipment service schedules, targeting customers & proactively developing service related parts sales

Inventory Management

  • Analyze and implement the optimum of inventory control via; Predictive spare parts management, Planning, organizing, purchasing, supplier control/selection, logistics.

  • Manage, motivate and steer a dedicated centralized purchasing and logistics team in a proactive and business-focused manner to ensure maximum efficiency and output to increase profitability.

  • Implement Inventory reduction campaigns through standardization working with data science, sales, product management, R&D production departments and other internal stakeholders

  • Manage the global servicing and repair needs of (independent) service centers and parts factories for current and past spare parts (components).

Global Leadership Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global spare parts sales & inventory management standard policies and procedures.

  • Provide ongoing trainings and goal setting for spare parts (executive) staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to outperform their tasks and overachieve the goals

  • Develop global spare parts associates in truly understanding their customer’s business, processes and values, anticipate on this, with the aim to prepare a spot-on spare parts proposition which exceeds customers’ expectations.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and develop new ways of working to improve the global performance and efficiencies of staff, agents, suppliers and vendors.

  • Maintain strong communications and build good relationship with all stakeholders within the business. These include regional sales managers, service managers, global agents and customers.

  • Maintain regular contact with major customers to build loyalty and ensure long-term revenue

  • Ensure all global spare parts teams comply with relevant Acts, legal Demands, logistical challenges and ethical standards.

Your profile

  • Master/ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Commercial

  • Minimum 8-10 years of management experience in Parts Sales and Supply Chain positions

  • Prior working experience in OEM, heavy equipment or distribution is required for this role

  • Need to have strong leadership and remarkable achievements in a similar role, with strong commercial acumen and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Sound in decision making and strategic management, defining and developing strategies with a  ‘getting things done’ mentality

  • Good sense of setting the right priorities in a demanding and dynamic environment

  • Natural ability to relate to customers and colleagues of different cultures – ability to work with different people and cultures effectively and be a reliable team player
