Description of the assignment
We currently lack a tool which ensures resources are allocated effectively across our sales opportunities. This impacts sales resource planning. Sometimes we have more work than we have Sales Engineering capacity and sometimes we have more Sales Engineering capacity then work. We have no solution on how to balance this optimally.
The proposed research question we have in mind: "How can we best design and implement a Workload Monitoring and Forecasting Tool to maximize resource allocation and enhance operational efficiency within the APS Concept Engineering department?"
Department description
The department you are going to work in carries the following activities and projects:

Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze relevant data sets related to workload trends, historical data, and other pertinent information.

Tool Development and Testing: Actively participate in the design, development, and testing phases of the Workload Monitoring and Forecasting Tool.

Collaboration with Experts: Work closely with experienced professionals to understand the department's specific needs and requirements.

User Training and Support: Assist in the training of departmental staff on how to effectively use the tool for workload management.

Feedback Gathering and Iteration: Collect feedback from users to make necessary adjustments and improvements to the tool's functionality.

Documentation and Reporting: Document the development process, create user guides, and generate progress reports for internal stakeholders.
The position of the department is within the APS EMEA LATAM Concept Engineering department. It closely relates to project management, engineering and supply chain, as well as with corporate IT for tooling purposes. As student you will work on this research with direct involvement of department line management, supported by IT and BI-specialists where required.
