Your Position

The Head of Service Operations is a senior management position that oversees the delivery of services across all business units – Warehousing, Airports & Parcel. You will be responsible for the general management, service sales, and the expansion of the service activities in line with our strategy and way of working across Australia & New Zealand. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sustainable revenue targets for the service department.

  • Manages the execution of a high number of service contracts, sites and departments with a high organisational complexity on operational and commercial level 

  • Manage and motivate team members to achieve both operation and commercial targets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure repeat business.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and identify new sales opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's service offerings and industry trends.

  • Responsible for developing and executing a multiple-year’s regional service plan within the global service strategy.

  • Develop new ways of executing the local service way of working, supply chains, tooling, etc. to generate more business and sustainable profitable growth.

  • Monitor the performance of the service department to ensure that service levels are met or exceeded. Analyse data, such as customer satisfaction surveys, to identify areas for improvement.

  • Understanding the customer’s service business, processes, and values, anticipate this, with the aim to support a spot-on service proposition, which will exceed the current operations in the customer’s value chain.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field. 

  • Technical background and experience in baggage handling or material handling systems.

  • Local experience in the delivery of (multiple) Lifecycle Services contracts simultaneously.

  • Experience in selling large-scale service contracts and upgrade/migration projects.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability.

  • Commercial mindset to identify opportunities to improve support to the customer and also contribute to the organisation's financial success. 

  • Proven leadership and experience in developing people and teams.

  • Strong negotiator with drive for results.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset that can bring new ways of working to drive efficiency and value add.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to convince, collaborate and influence.

  • Independent, self-confident and team player.

  • Willingness to travel within ANZ and Internationally (30-50%).

  • Sound financial acumen. 

  • Fluent in written and verbal English.
