  • Drive the Zero Carbon goal per 2040, supported by the requirements of ISO 50001

Your role

In the position of HSE Compliance Officer, you will be contributing to the realization of Vanderlande’s global sustainability ambitions. You will focus on the part of our Sustainability Roadmap, that deals with compliance to internal and external standards and requirements. Some of these goals are:

  • Zero Carbon Footprint per 2040

  • Zero waste from our facilities per 2040

  • ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification for our main locations

Tasks and responsibilities

In this role, you will focus on enhancing and maintaining HSE compliance and adherence to ISO standards. You will drive improvements on (global) HSE performance. You will do so by:

  • Establishing, implementing and maintaining a process for evaluating compliance with legal, customer and Vanderlande requirements in the field of occupational health & safety and environment, meeting the requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001.

  • Evaluating compliance to these requirements, in close cooperation with local HSE Management.

  • Driving improvements globally on environmental performance (Energy consumption, waste reduction, circularity).

  • Monitoring and advising on compliance to (local) environmental legislation and permit requirements.

  • Developing a Corporate HSE Audit Program, in close cooperation with Quality Assurance and Local HSE Management.

  • Conducting HSE audits at Manufacturing, Project and Service Sites of Vanderlande and at suppliers and contractors of Vanderlande.

  • Keeping records of the above mentioned responsibilities.

  • Reporting to internal and external stakeholders and providing hands-on advice when required.

  • Supporting the Corporate HSE Vision: Deliver World Class HSE Performance, leading our industry. Objectives

Your department

The Global HSE team (6 fte) is part of the BU Technology and is responsible for creating and implementing global HSE policies and guidelines, and for the support of local HSE Management. This role reports to Director Global HSE.

Apart from your direct colleagues in the Global HSE Team, the main contacts for this role are

  • Local HSE Managers & HSE Officers

  • Global Sustainability Office

  • Quality Assurance Department

  • General Counsel & Compliance

  • Legal Department

  • External stakeholders (e.g. certification institutes, Labor Inspectorate, suppliers)

Your profile

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Management

  • Practical knowledge and experience in the field of Environmental Management

  • Up to 5 years of experience in the field of Occupational Health & Safety, preferably gained in a construction a/o mechanical engineering environment.

  • Experience with ISO 14001/ISO 50001/ISO 45001 is a must.

  • Experience in occupational safety or sustainability is a plus.

  • Good communication skills, mastering the English language

  • Excellent stakeholder management

  • Setting of high standards / setting a good example

  • Ability to analyze information & produce written reports

  • Assertiveness, you are willing and able to challenge status quo

  • Excellent command of the English language
