- The current communication process within supply chain ops is fragmented and lacks structure, leading to confusion and inefficiency. Communication often happens on an ad-hoc basis without proactive planning, resulting in unclear messaging and ineffective practices. There is no formal blueprint or strategy to guide communication, and uncertainty exists regarding which channels and platforms to use. Additionally, there is no established framework for determining the frequency or content of communication, nor is there proactive research into the challenges faced by stakeholders.

Supply Chain Operations Europe is central to a global network, ensuring seamless flow from suppliers to project delivery worldwide. It powers Vanderlande’s innovative solutions with three centers across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.
In Europe, the Operational Supplier Management (OSM) team connects global operations, aligning buyers in India with coordinators in Veghel for efficient supplier orders and deliveries. The Material Planning (MP) team balances demand and supply across distribution centers and warehouses, while the Supply to Projects (StP) team collaborates with project teams to design supply plans that ensure success from the sales phase onward.
Your responsibilities
- Stakeholder Analysis: Engage with key stakeholders across supply chain operations and beyond to understand their communication needs.
- Strategic Development: Design a communication strategy that enhances our operational clarity and strengthens partnerships within Vanderlande and with external suppliers.
- Content Creation: Create sample communications, such as a newsletter, presentation, and email, that fit within the strategy and highlight the value and progress of supply chain operations to other Global Vanderlande departments
- Platform creation: Work on using the right platforms to communicate to our stakeholders in and outside Vanderlande.
- Channel and Platform Recommendations: Recommend appropriate communication channels and platforms to reach our target audiences more effectively.
- Impact Assessment: Identify ways to measure the success and impact of our communication efforts.
Your profile
- A Communication Student with a Marketing Edge: You’re passionate about communication strategies and have a knack for marketing principles.
- Skills in Strategy & Planning: You know how to design clear, effective communication strategies and understand the importance of setting a communication blueprint.
- Analytical Abilities: You’re comfortable gathering and analyzing information from various sources to identify communication gaps and opportunities.
- Active Listening & Interpersonal Skills: You’re skilled in listening and building relationships with stakeholders to understand their unique perspectives.
- Cross-Cultural Awareness: You appreciate the nuances of communicating across different cultures and bring sensitivity to a diverse environment.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written; Dutch is a plus)
- Mandatory enrolment in a Dutch Education System and resident of The Netherlands*
