Vanderlande wants to learn as fast as possible within the equipment behavior. Therefor your position is crucial for creation of new airports baggage handling products. Ordering and making prototypes to study equipment behavior is expensive a time consuming. Vanderlande wants to learn if using digital twin(s) lowers the effort and speed of product development. You will do research on MATLAB Simulink to learn the capabilities.
In this assignment, you will support our Research and Development Engineers during your internship. You will create insights on MATLAB Simulink to optimize the capabilities of new airports baggage handling products within Vanderlande.

This assignment is focused on the Technology department from Vanderlande, also known as Research and Development (R&D). Your focus will be on ‘Conveying Airports’ which is responsible for the entire platform (Equipment and OT-Software) for baggage handling systems for airports. In this project you will mainly be working on your own. You will be working mainly with OT-software specialists, integrators, and testers within the stream.
Present the usability of MATLAB Simulink for product development. As part of activities:
You are creating a digital twin from a SolidWorks model
Using a PLC to connect and test the digital twin
Strong knowledge and experience in MATLAB Simulink, SolidWorks and Siemens TIA Portal;
Strong communication and planning skills
