Your Position

Being based on our customer site in Melbourne you will be part of the service support team. Your key area of responsibility is to support the IT hardware and infrastructure. Your focus will be on working closely with the Vanderlande onsite and remote teams and the customer to ensure smooth delivery of day-to-day operations.

Your scope includes the support of both the operational production and test environments as well as PCs, servers, virtualization, clients, & databases together with the execution of patching and antivirus updates.

Your Responsibilities

  • Hardware, software, windows server operating system and domain, cluster servers, databases, network, and communication systems related to the automated handling system

  • Provide hands-on IT and controls support and take appropriate remediation action (directly or by engaging relevant support team).

  • Respond to technical support calls from other staff members or clients and communicate how to resolve issues.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system and network problems, software faults, database issues or hardware complications.

  • Support patch deployment by working closely with overseas software and R&D team.

  • Conduct IT Security audits & Pen Tests, including follow-up work.

  • Build a positive relationship with the customer to become their trusted advisor on IT-related topics.

  • Support Service Delivery Manager on long-term plan in IT and controls for the site.

  • Working closely together with our internal remote support teams and those of the customer.

  • Manage escalations / major incidents.

  • Monitoring, maintenance and improvement of hardware, software, servers, databases, and controls are taking place.

Your profile

As IT Support Engineer you are a team player with a positive, energetic attitude and work ethic and have a strong customer focus with an ambitious drive for continuous improvements.

  • You are an excellent communicator who can develop long-term business relationships and/or networks, combining your “soft” and “hard” skills to achieve results without having the hierarchical responsibility for the teams.

  • You perform well under pressure (escalations, major incidents), set priorities, and manage time effectively.

  • You have finished at minimum bachelor’s degree.

  • You have good communication skills in English (written and verbal).

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant IT project or service management experience within business-critical IT environments (no IT workplace/office automation); preferably client-facing towards an external customer.

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management processes (ITIL, BISL, ASL or other) preferably on an Intermediate level and software development knowledge is preferred.

  • Ability to travel if requested.

  • Flexibility in working hours to deliver changes or support major incidents.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage continuous improvement within a project or assigned client.

  • Experience and or qualifications around

    • HP Server Hardware support Qualified preferably.

    • VMware Virtualization qualified preferably.

    • Knowledge of Oracle databases (preferred).

    • Knowledge of networking and switch configuration experience.

    • Knowledge of SAN infrastructure is advantageous.

    • Windows 10 In-depth Knowledge.

    • Active directory administration.

    • Linux & Windows server administration.
