Title: Junior Controls Support Engineer

Reports to: Senior Team Leader

Location: London, Heathrow T5

In the challenging and responsible position of Junior Controls Support Engineer, you will have the chance to make a significant contribution to the growth and profitability of Vanderlande.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting the WINTEL Infrastructure and the SUSE Linux estate

  • Monitoring the ticketing queue and responding to service requests and resolving infrastructure-related incidents promptly minimizing potential disruptions

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems as required

  • Maintaining a proficient working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends and monitoring systems proactively by identifying performance-related issues

  • Supporting, designing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery routines & procedures

  • Following defined procedures to monitor systems resolve problems or escalate and continuous improvement of new and existing procedures

Role Qualifications and Skills:

  • Windows XP/7/10/11 desktop OS (Desirable)
  • Any Windows system OS systems and system experience (Desirable)
  • A sound grasp of ICT skills such as using MS Office (Desirable)
  • Linux/Unix (Experience or understanding)
  • Backup/Restore imaging technologies (Awareness and understanding)
  • VMware 5.5/6/6.5 technologies (Understanding)
  • PowerShell/Python or any scripting experience.
  • Network/Wireless/Routing (Understanding and awareness)
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict time scales
  • Understand incident management and ticket assignment, working within published SLAs and OLAs
  •  Working 24/7 Shifts
