What will you be doing?
Together with your team of Flow Controllers and Service Technicians, you will be mainly responsible for resolving “jams” or blockages in the logistics of the advanced system.
Responsibilities
- Safely resolving first-line disruptions in the Vanderlande system.
- Responding to calls from the Control Room to identify disruptions upon notifications or alarms.
- Diagnosing the type of disruption and locating and communicating simple defects with the Control Room or Shift Leader to minimize downtime.
- Keeping the work floor clean and free of obstructions.
- Processing data in the disruption databases.
- Working in a 5-shift system. For this, you will receive a 30% shift allowance.

As a Junior Service Technician, you will make a significant contribution to customer satisfaction, focusing on the continuity of the customer process. Therefore, you possess an enthusiastic and proactive attitude and are flexible in your availability. You can work under pressure, communicate effectively, and motivate the team to act quickly during incidents. You are also a real team player, both within your team and with your Vanderlande colleagues, as well as with the Albert Heijn team.
You have the following qualifications and skills:
- Affinity with mechanical and/or electrical (maintenance) work and some technical experience.
- Good command of the English language (spoken and written) and beginner in Dutch or willing to learn Dutch.
- Willing to work night shifts in the 5-shift system.
- Preferably living near Zaandam.
- Enthusiastic, eager to learn, precise, and able to work independently.
- Willing to attend courses and training.
