What will you be doing?​

In this role, you will oversee a team responsible for managing financial risks and opportunities related to our projects and large service contracts. Your work will drive the implementation of finance best practices and enhance financial processes, positively impacting the organization beyond just the finance department. Through proactive performance analysis, you will turn data into actionable insights and help develop performance improvement plans that will shape the future of our business.
 

Responsibilities​

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing, coaching and developing Europe project and service control team. Next to that you will be interacting on a regular basis with senior stakeholders in the project execution and service domain.

  • Driving and instilling a Performance Management based culture.

  • Involvement in Total Cost of Ownership, foreign exchange risk management, risk assessment (payment, tax, political risk).

  • Defining and implementing a finance vision and strategy for the global projects & service controlling organisation, including subsequent objectives and actions.

  • Ensuring involvement in managing financial, contractual risks & opportunities, as well as involvement in customer discussions & negotiations during project execution.

  • Based on thorough analysis, the identification of short- and long-term business issues, where you propose and support potential solutions and drive process improvements

  • Managing cash flows and foreign currency exposure

  • Reliable and transparent financial forecasting and budgeting.

  • Reporting on the project & service contract portfolio to relevant stakeholders, within the deadlines, according to corporate guidelines.

  • Being a leading example to the Global Vanderlande Business Control Community.

What do we ask from you?​

We ask you to bring in experience, education and personality:

  • Master degree in Finance or Business Administration

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in an international company, preferably in a business-to-business and a project & service-oriented environment

  • Business partnering experience, with a project and service execution focus and strong commercial acumen

  • Experience in managing and coaching international teams

  • Solid understanding of project & service control

  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English, other languages are a plus.

  • Because a big part of your team and stakeholders are based in Veghel, a regular presence in Veghel is required.

  • Willingness to travel (approx. 15% to  locations in Europe)

  • Ambitious self-starter, you naturally take the initiative

  • Excellent stakeholder management, you are able to communicate on all levels

  • You are a natural leader

About the team

The EMEA project & service control team is located across our various European locations with a centre of gravity in Veghel (headquarters of Vanderlande), Monchengladbach, London and Barcelona. The team consists of approximately 10-12 people and reports into the Executive Director Finance Business Control Airports and Parcel (APS). The team is the central point of contact for all projects and service contracts in Europe and the Middle East. The team works across the domains Airports, Parcel/Amazon and Warehouse.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 7.200 to € 9.500 per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
