Lead Quality Manager Development Centre Equipment

Quality Assurance is important within Vanderlande and for its customers. Therefore, Quality Assurance (QA) is setup in the entire Value Chain, from development to actual delivery to and usage by our customers.

The Development Centre Equipment is an early part of the Value Chain. Therefore, within the Development Centre Equipment a dedicated QA department is in place.

The mission of the QA department is to promote the Quality mindset, enable first time right equipment and software delivery and continuously improve module performance by giving independent support to our Development Centres.

As lead Quality Manager you are in the driving seat of making steps towards realizing our quality mission.

Your department

In the Development Center Equipment (DCE, formally known as R&D), no two days are the same. Our activities are based all over the world and each project is different. Every one of our talented specialists is committed to solving the next challenge, and enhancing Vanderlande’s competitive position.

The department Quality Assurance within DCE is a relative new department.

The department will focus on four main topics:

  • Field Quality: participation within Field Quality Board, support in Root Cause Analysis and ensuring priority on these topics within DCE.

  • Development Support: process facilitation and guidance (e.g. with design reviews), technical support using 6Sigma and 8D approach and ensuring closed loop feedback within DCE.

  • Monitor and control deliveries of the DCE by means of dashboards and data analysis.

  • Audit and assessments: plan and perform cross project audits, design reviews, tollgate assessments and independent quality advice.

You will report to the head of Module Management, Quality Assurance & Agile Transformation.

Your position

As lead Quality Manager you have the opportunity to setup a team of experts and specialist per main topic to realize our quality mission.

Next to setting up a team, you will lead by example in one or more of the topics Field Quality, Development Support, Monitor and Control, Audit and Assessments.

As a Quality Manager within the DCE you advise on and implement the quality policy of Vanderlande, whereby structural improvements are implemented in the organization by means of change management in order to achieve a higher quality standard. This includes creating the Quality roadmap and coordinating the development and maintenance of a quality system while stimulating continuous improvements.

Being able to lead department culture change is an important topic within this position as we want to add quality to the mindset of our colleagues.

You will work closely together with many departments and teams within the DCE and the Technology organisation. For instance the Development Teams within the different businesses where new developments are being steered and the Strategy and Transformation team where structural improvements are being coordinated.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • You steer the Vanderlande quality assurance mission

  • You are responsible for the quality strategy and roadmap

  • You have a line management role for the new QA team to be setup

  • You lead by example a team of Quality Engineers, specialists and subject matter experts

  • Together with the team you drive the continuous improvement on Quality Assurance and spread the quality mindset around colleagues within Vanderlande

  • You manage the QA roadmap

  • You monitor and steer quality related KPIs within the DCE

  • You identify gaps w.r.t. quality assurance with the DCE and create proposals to improve

  • You align Quality activities and collaboration across the Value Stream and apply proper stakeholder management

Your profile

  • You have a bachelor or university degree, Mechanical Engineering/Electronic Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Software engineering

  • At least 5-10 years of experience within a technical organisation

  • You have a quality mindset

  • You have a track record in lean Quality Assurance, e.g. black belt, master black belt is preferred

  • Pro-active, self-starting professional

  • Experience with the Agile way of working is a pre

  • Good stakeholder management skills, analytical skills and know how to effectively deploy these

  • Multidisciplinary thinking and knowledge

  • Good understanding of quality systems and standards used in product and project environment

  • Strong communication skills and acting as a team player

  • You are able to speak, read and write in English
