What will you be doing?

As lead software engineer and member of the VIBES Core team, you will be responsible for the APIs and microservices architecture. Also supports DevOps to build, maintain a sustainable build pipeline.

 

You will lead the process for a team implementing functionality for our Airport platform. In a scrum team of professionals your technical knowledge and competencies will be leading and will be the base for your discussions with the Product Owner and interaction with system architects. You lead by example by taking up lead development activities within the team. 

 

The role plays a crucial part in modernising a robust, and maintainable system for BHS that can accommodate the rapid addition of features in the product. As the company scales, your work will become a vital source of support to other product teams in the workstream.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in software and system design and development for a complex product 

  • Lead and guide your team by setting an example 

  • Create application designs and implement them 

  • Develop software, preferably with Test Driven Development (TDD). 

  • Support testing and integration of software Components 

  • Collaborate within an Agile (Scrum or Kanban) team 

  • Actively participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement efforts. 

  • Handling our core stack consisting of: Java Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Keycloak, Gherkin (Specflow), Microservices 

What do we ask from you?

  • 5 or more years of working experience as a software team lead and/or lead developer

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in IT with 10 or more years experience in software engineering

  • Experience with refactoring and migrating technology projects

  • Leadership skills

  • Aligning the technical solutions with other software-, and technical leads

  • Pro-active and solution-driven mindset

  • Container based deployment (Docker, Kubernetes and Helm)

  • Continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevOps

  • Maintaining the product backlog together with the Product Owner

You'll stand out if you have experience with:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code 
  • Domain Driven Design (DDD) 
  • Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic stack experience  
  • Experiences in industrial domain (Emulation and simulation experience a +) 
  • Fluent in both oral and written English. Dutch is plus. 

    About the team
    The VIBES Core development consist of Agile/Scrum teams. You will join the Veghel team, whilst other development teams are located in Veghel, and Quebec, Canada. You will be in a multi-disciplined team of developers, who work closely with our product owners and designers.

    By joining our VIBES Core Development team, as software lead you will be working as a part of an international team developing and evolving core components that manage the entire baggage handling system such as planning, monitoring, interfaces and resource management.

    This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4600,- to € 5900,-  gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
