Learning & Leadership is part of the CoE Talent & Learning which includes Global Talent Acquisition and Global Talent Management to provide an integrated talent lifecycle.  

Learning & Leadership is a global organization, in 3 regions; North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific. In addition to the regional teams, we have 3 global teams: Program Management, Talent & Leadership and Content & Media Solutions. It consists of an international team with over 25 dedicated colleagues. This team works closely together with the Vanderlande Business Leaders, our global HR Business Partners and People Services team, employees and a variety of trainers in- and outside of Vanderlande.

Your role
As Learning Content Developer/instructional designer you are responsible for the design and development of innovative learning solutions for Vanderlande employees worldwide. In co-development with the Learning Consultant or program manager responsible for scope and learning solutions, it is your challenge to develop the needed learning solution. These learning solutions could for example web-based training / e-learning, (Virtual) Classroom course instructional video or an animation. You will develop these solutions together with a internal Subject Matter Expert. An external supplier can also be involved for the production of learning solutions.

This role reports to the Team Lead Content & Media Solutions and is part of the Center of Expertise Global Learning & Leadership.

Your main tasks are:

  • In a co-development with the Learning Consultant, Program managers or Subject matter expert develop the needed learning solution.
  • Develop instructor led courses based upon the Vanderlande Academy course structure.
  • Incorporate various digital media solutions when developing digital learning solutions
  • Align the scope with the design and the development progress with the involved learning consultant or program Manager.
  • Maintain and/or adjust existing (online) courses based upon quality guidelines, evaluation results and reported issues.
  • Work closely together with internal and external subject matter experts or internal trainers while developing (online) courses.
  • Work closely together with external suppliers.
  • Project Manage the development in terms of activities and resources, in such a way that the deadline is met.

The successful candidate is able to

  • Manage projects related to development of learning solutions through analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of training.
  • Develop interactive, educational and engaging scripts, visuals and (online) courses.
  • Develop E-learnings using a range of authoring tools, e.g.,  Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Suite.
  • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs.
  • To visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.
  • Develop workshops by using online collaboration tools like Miro or Mentimeter.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Decide on the criteria used to assess learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders

Your profile

To be successful as Learning Content Developer you must have a good understanding of the way people learn and how this can be translated into (mainly technical) learning solutions. Your passion lies with hands on development and have gained knowledge and experience in instructional design principals, working with various authoring tools and various digital media. As a person you are structured , analytical and a team player who enjoys being part of a diverse, global, dedicated team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to think and work on bachelor level.
  • Proven skills and knowledge in learning and development.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working as a instructional designer or learning consultant in a similar complex and international technical environment.
  • Proven experience in working with e-learning tools for example (but not limited to) Articulate Storyline, Camtasia as well as digital media editing tools like Adobe Suite.
  • Preferably also experience in working with online collaboration tools like Miro or Mentimeter
  • Able to work independently as well as working efficiently with team members.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability in Project management skills, and experience in working with Kanban or Scrum methodology is preferred (not mandatory).
