Your Challenge
As a Software Engineer, you will join our growing Melbourne service support team to form part of our Australian based software house. You will closely collaborate with our inhouse 1st, 2nd and 3rd level service teams who are located both locally and overseas. Being a customer facing role, you will also liaise with various customer teams byway of having a presence on site or online.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and optimisation of the warehouse control software installed at our customer sites. You will perform root cause analysis of the incidents that occur. You may be involved in incident escalations that see you implement fixes and install these fixes into the live production environment. You will also be required to work on our on-call roster, meaning you will be required to log in and support customer issues outside normal business hours.
Based out of our modern Notting Hill office, you will also be required to, from time to time, travel to our various customer sites in both Melbourne and interstate. This will give you the opportunity to work face to face with our cutting-edge automated solutions for customers, either in a greenfield and brownfield environment.
In addition, you will also have the opportunity to add enhancements to existing customer systems. You will draw on Vanderlande’s well-defined software architecture and databases to drive the software development of the project. You will do this using the assistance of colleagues in your team and other specialists within the wider Vanderlande organisation.
Your Background
The successful candidate will have the following:

Tertiary qualification in IT related field.

At least 3+ years of relevant work experience in PL/SQL.

Develop, design, test and implement complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools.

Experience with Oracle Version 12c, 19c

Strong experience with oracle functions, procedures, triggers, packages & performance tuning.

Performance tune SQL's, application programs and instances.

Experience in maintenance of existing software applications and continuous improvement (brownfield development).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

A committed personality and a team player.

An excellent engineering skillset, focuses on objectives, will take ownership of tasks.

An eye for details and compliance within your methods, standards and quality of work and adheres to quality assurance practices.

A willingness and flexibility to occasionally travel interstate and worldwide (25%).

A PR or Australian citizenship living in Melbourne, Australia.
Highly regarded:

DBA experience
-
Knowledge of C# or Java.

Experience in setup of automated tests and deployment chains (CI/CD) is highly appreciated

Experience with issue tracking tools like JIRA

Experience with Git versioning control
