Introduction to role

The Vanderlande Service Team is responsible for maintenance and optimization of an automated warehouse solution. You will be working in a maintenance team and will be located at Sainsbury’s, Daventry distribution center.

Role Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer you are able to act on operational, tactical and strategic level, and you know how to present the benefits of a specific solution in a convincing and constructive way. You have an entrepreneurial approach in which you are responsible to take the initiative and make decisions. You have excellent communication skills, and you excel at building good relationships with our teams and customers

Your responsibilities and activities will include:

  • Executing process optimizations related to our (automated) logistics solutions in use by our customers
  • Understand various forms of data analysis; translate it into process improvements.
  • Advise and make improvement proposals for the total process in both system, technical and operational terms. This includes root-cause finding for complex system errors as well as performance improvement studies and continuous improvement services
  • Actively identify and generate solutions for system barriers through your time spent on the floor; translate these into customer business cases
  • Support with the implementation of the improvements. While doing, you will build a strong network within the service team as well as with the client
  • Improve tools and methods to better our data capture and performance analysis

Role Qualification and Skills

  • A background in continuous improvement and process engineering, with a proven track record of successfully implementing process enhancements.
  • Previous experience working directly with operations teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder management, effectively communicating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills, coupled with a genuine interest in databases and data analytics tooling.
  • Familiarity with CI/Lean tools is essential, with preference given to candidates with Lean Six Sigma experience.
