That’s where Vanderlande comes in as a strategic partner with full responsibility for the performance and maintenance of Heathrow’s baggage handling systems.  

Your Role

As Process Improvement Manager, you ensure continuous performance improvement as well as execute performance improvement studies related to our (automated) logistics solutions in use at LHR. Analysing customer processes and data and the automation solution making improvement proposals for the total process in both system and operational terms. You are leading a small team of Process Engineers to increase the efficiency of the system, decrease downtime, maximize flow, and optimize maintenance practices and overall system performance.

You will be performing the following tasks:

  • Functional and disciplinary leading of a small team to the successful completion of various continuous improvement initiatives

  • Initiation of continuous performance improvement studies as well as creation and execution of performance improvement projects related to our (automated) logistics solutions in use at LHR

  • Ongoing Develop, maintain, and improve methods to gain and use relevant performance data

  • Analyse system, process, and maintenance activity performance

  • Evaluate and improve the system, process, and maintenance activity performance by monitoring customer processes and analyzing performance data and the automation solution making improvement proposals for the total process in both system and operational terms

  • Acting as a strong link between internal and external stakeholders to communicate performance status and improvement actions

  • Actively Supporting and coaching the continuous improvement team as well as the operations and maintenance frontline teams in their improvement activities with the aim of improving the ways of working and embedding the continuous improvement culture in the organization

We expect the following from you:

  • Relevant Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Logistics, IT, or Industrial Engineering & Management combined with at least 2-5 years of experience in leading a team

  • Appropriate years of experience managing complex continuous improvement projects in a dynamic and system-critical environment

  • Proficient expertise and experience in continuous improvement approaches such as Lean Six Sigma and TPM is desired

  • Powerful analytical skills and knowledge of databases and spreadsheets

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent usage of MS Office
