Your Department 

The Business Unit Warehouse Solution (WS) develops, sells and delivers complex highly automated warehousing solutions for our customers. It is on a journey from engineer-to-order company to a configure-to-order company. Next years challenges regarding this transformation will play a central role in the your function. 

Your Role 

In the fast-changing world of Warehousing logistics automation, we need to constantly adapt to stay ahead of our competitorsTherefore we need to drive multiple improvement projects and programs in order to get there. We will need to collect, steer and prioritize the overall continuous improvement (CI) portfolio of initiatives on our way to becoming a more successful, profitable and competitive Business Unit 

To do this, Vanderlande is transitioning to a configure-to-order and platform-driven company. In this context, many programs, projects and continuous improvement activities are executed cross the business unit Warehouse Solutions. Goal is to start coordinating this portfolio of activities. As this is a new role we are looking for new colleague that is up for a challenge and able to define mature the role as we grow this capability in the business. 
In your role you will coordinate the total improvement portfolio within the Warehouse Solution Business. You will be responsible to collect, track (including value), initiate, steer and prioritize our initiatives in order for the total Business Unit to become successful in the future. The BU WS team recognizes that we need to synchronize our improvements so all teams benefit from the improvements brought forward. You will report to the Transformation Manager in the BU WS. Can you help us out?
 

Responsibilities 

  • Collect and maintain the improvement portfolio within the Business Unit Warehousing Solutions 

  • Track progress, impact (also for the customer) and value of all initiatives on a regular basis from initiation until closure 

  • Determine key topics for improvements based on NPS, eSATfinancial metrics and incentives of senior line management 

  • Turn improvements into initiatives, projects and programs in order to enable the desired results for the future 

  • Help the BU Management Team (Director level) to coordinate initiatives within the business unit to allow for the best overall result 

  • Setup and initiatives at the start of projects including resourcing and budgeting 

  • Facilitate in setting up business cases and project charter for initiatives 

  • Help to communicate effectively during and at the end of initiatives in order to create visibility of the improvements 

  • Facilitate the celebration of success at the end of projects 

  • Enable one way of working throughout the improvement portfolio 

  • Manage the degree and speed of change per quarter to allow and effective and efficient drumbeat of improvements coming to the different teams 

  • Collect and maintain insights in total resources availability to manage the total portfolio of initiatives (project managers, consultants, external hires within the BU WS) 

  • Facilitate (and review) stage gate controls for projects in order start, stop, slow down and accelerate initiatives with the right focus for every phase of the project 

  • Conduct risk analysis continuously 

  • Manage key stakeholders in the BU MT and CC MTs of WS on expectations and planning 

Your qualifications

  • Master Degree (technical) university, preferably in (business) engineering 

  • Portfolio management courses is preferred 

  • Project management qualification is a pré e.g. Prince II 

  • year experience in portfolio management or program management at top tier consulting, engineering firm or inhouse consulting/strategy/program department

  • Professional reporting and presentation skills and you exceed in cost/budget control

  • Strong interest in Industrial Automation and Customer Services (B2B)  

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit   

  • Keen to work in an international environment and willing to travel internationally 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills 

  • Conceptual thinker on strategic level  

  • Pro-active attitude, drive for improvement  

  • Experience with quality improvement & operational excellence preferably in a technical environment  

  • Excellent communicator at all levels (able to adjust communication style based on audience)  

  • Fluent in Dutch and English
