What you will be doing?
You are responsible that the installed SW base can be properly maintained and upgraded while still be add e.g. new hardware interfacing and other features to the SW platform. Your main task of the JR SW architect is to build upon the SW Architectural runway of the Loopsorter SW platform. This means that you have to build upon legacy code and have to transition the existing control SW into a more maintainable and future proof SW platform. You align with other software architects to ensure the overall software architecture of our software platform
You are doing this together with a SCRUM-team of professionals your technical knowledge and competencies will be leading and will be the base for your discussions with the various Product Owners and development leads on SW improvements and architectural decisions. You are responsible to build a clear vision on the current and next generation SW architecture and to translate that vision into an executable roadmap with clear activities.
You are able to clearly explain your vision and roadmap towards SW engineers within several development teams.
Apart from your tasks as a software architect you will also lead by example by taking up lead development activities within the team.
Further responsibilities
- Leading the software design of microservices within the new software platform
- Defining technical user stories
- Implementing SW Designs and component requirements
- Aligning the software architecture with other software-, and system architects
- Acting as a knowledge holder on the SW architecture
- Leading the team as a developer during the implementation phase
- Maintaining the product backlog together with the Product Owner
- Providing support to the team and challenge them to excel!
What do we ask from you?
You are a proactive, enthusiastic, result-driven with a pragmatic hands-on attitude, and it is your ambition to fulfill a Software Architect role. Furthermore, you do possess or are eager to learn some of the following knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent
- A couple of years of experience as a software/ tech lead and/or lead developer
- Knowledge and/or experience with a selection of contemporary languages and frameworks. E.g. C++11, C#, Linux, Profinet, Modbus, Event Driven Architecture (Micro-services), Real time kernel, Debian, SOLID Principles, OO Design patterns, Architecture patterns
- Domain driven design and behavior driven development
- Knowledge of-, and experience with (implementation of) service oriented architecture
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary project organization
- Requirements Management, Change Management, Version Control (Git) and Test management tools
- Knowledge about Material Handling processes, and/or logistic trade and the skills to transfer them into usable concepts and architectures is an advantage
- Both oral and written English.
