We are looking for a R&D Test Engineer who enjoys working in a high performing team to deliver high quality mechatronic products! Together with different teams, consisting of approximately 40 multidisciplinary engineers, you are responsible for testing of our technical solutions.

For this position, we are also seeking a person who can manage an electrical/control setups in order to ensure the successful commissioning of the new tests.

Your Department

You will be part of our Technology department (former Research and Development) where no two days are the same. We improve our current products by working closely with engineering, supply chain and service, all driven by our customer needs. Our activities are based all over the world and each project is different. These projects improve the business of our external customers within the Airports, Parcel, and  Warehousing  markets with our scalable products like conveyors, sorters, and/or storage solutions. Your responsibilities
As a R&D Test Engineer, you are responsible for the preparation and maintenance of our test related tooling, verifying and validating multidisciplinary sort, transport and storage products for Vanderlande. You will be challenged technically and be responsible to build and execute a (risk based) test strategy so you can guarantee a good quality and functionality.

  • You deliver input for test plans, based on the relevant product criteria, the client application and the requirements applicable.
  • You will implement these test plans on actual system in our testing facilities and able to analyze test results to identify improvements and/or root causes.
  • You will identify and mitigate technical risks and document the risks, problems, progress and status of test execution.
  • Supporting mechanical, hardware and system design, OT software development (ie. PLC), integration of components and system verification.
  • Support and execute component and system testing.
  • Understanding, interpreting and following procedures and standards.

Your qualifications and skills

  • You have an Industrial degree or Higher technical Grade.  
  • You are a smart self-starter with a hands-on, flexible mindset and pro-active spirit.
  • You are a team player and like to support your colleagues on their developments.
  • You have a continuous improvement focus and attitude.
  • You have knowledge and affinity – or even a proven track record – with (system) testing.
  • You are familiar with test plans and risk analyses to propose improvements on a tactical level. 
  • Knowledge of TIA Portal at an intermediate level.
  • Interpretation of electrical diagrams.
  • Able to speak and document in the English language.

Valued qualifications and skills

  • Knowledge in solving methods like (8D, PDCA, Six Sigma).
  • You have certificates or you are willing to learn in ISTQB or TMAP.
