Your team

As a Senior Data Governance Steward you will be part of the Data Governance team, which is part of the Central Data Organization that in turn reports to the CIO. This fairly new department shows the ambition and direction set by Vanderlande to become a data driven company.

The Central Data Organization focuses on the further professionalization of Vanderlande’s information needs to facilitate and support the company’s worldwide objectives. In a fast-growing, complex international environment we focus on one way of working, by optimizing and embedding our processes through further digitalization and automation.

The Data Governance team is accountable for the governance, monitoring and improvement of data (quality) in the organization globally by enforcing policies, processes and procedures, in collaboration with the Business Domain Data Stewards, by means of a federated approach.

Your position

Your main responsibility in this position is to set up, implement and ensure adherence to a supported organization-wide applicable data governance framework to enable the formal management (consuming, contribution, validation, processing, protection, etc.) of data assets.

You will develop, deploy and enforce relevant processes, policies, practices and standards to ensure proper use and governance of data. You will support the Business Domain Data Stewards with the implementation of Data Governance within their business domains, securing alignment between the different business domains.​

Your profile

Do you have a lot of experience in Data Governance in an international and multi-cultural environment, then we are looking for, as you will excel at:

  • Understanding the Data Governance and Data Management functions and potential issues that might emerge and have a strong awareness of data governance from a business perspective

  • Quickly gaining in-depth knowledge of the business processes, the data which is used within the business processes and how they function cross-domain.

  • Refining and implementing data governance processes and policies and driving ownership within the business domains

  • Applying experience with data governance and data management functions

  • Cooperating & collaborating with e.g. Business Domain Owners, Business Domain Data Stewards

  • Communication and problem-solving skills

You should have experience with:

  • Audit, measure & monitor the enterprise data maturity, data governance KPI/PI/DQI’s

  • Advise on organization and process improvements related to data governance

  • Initiate, organize and implement complex data governance improvement projects (role as product owner) in the area of data governance, together with stakeholders and internal customers (e.g. Business Domain Owners, Business Domain Data Stewards, Capability Owners, SME’s, data architects, ……). 

  • Transfer data governance knowledge to the business through setting up and giving training courses

  • Agile/SCRUM way of working
