Service Project Manager

Your department 
VOICE LCS is responsible for the development and implementation of Life-Cycle Services to our systems worldwide, globally LCS is responsible for approximately 20% of Vanderlande’s total revenue and growing strongly. Alongside the traditional services, we are developing ourselves to support further growth in a dynamic environment. Therefore, we are looking for talented people! 

Your position 
As a Project Manager Service, you are responsible for providing, selling and realizing multiple RMR (revisions, modifications and retrofits) projects and Life Cycle Support for existing and new systems of our customers. Together with the Contract Manager and Account Manager you translate the customer needs into a technical solution and commercial offer. You are responsible for the performance of the project execution such as time, budget, quality and functionality. During this process you manage all stakeholders (internal/external) and have a strong focus on managing opportunities and risks. As Project Manager Service you need to be flexible and pressure resistant and lead multiple projects simultaneously.  

In addition, you support the development of Service projects processes in your own team and globally to professionalize the way of working. 

Your profile 
You are services minded and understand the criticality of our systems worldwide. You have excellent communication skills because you are in contact with both internal and external customers. 

  • You have finished a Bachelor or Master degree; 

  • Relevant working experience (min. 6 to 8 years) in an international environment; 

  • Affinity with the Vanderlande products and processes; 

  • You act as an entrepreneur with a hands-on mentality and have a strong customer focus; 

  • You can speak, read and write in English 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Act as contact point for customer as well as departments within company for given project. 

  • Initiate the project through required formalities and internal / external kick-off meetings  

  • Preparation of order break up, Creating WBS structure, finalizing scope, Finalizing budget, Final schedule, project team  

  • Prepare project management plan 

  • Monitoring and updating all activities on weekly basis to avoid delays and highlight critical activities. 

  • Continuous liasoning with clients for getting approvals and submission of necessary technical and commercial documents  

  • Support in preparation of technical specifications for bought outs, purchase items & collecting quotations  

  • Planning, Executing, monitoring the project to meet required goals as per scope, in available time, cost, and quality to have customer satisfaction.  

  • Responsible for review of sales budget, invoicing schedules, maximizing profitability, ascertaining risk & opportunities. 

  • Submitting monthly progress report and updated schedules to clients  

  • Follow up with internal departments, vendors and holding meetings to ensure project schedules. 

  • Arranging third party inspections and maintaining adequate records of all documents. 

  • CCN analysis and making the records and arranging cost review meetings. 

  • Preparing project cash flows (inflow/out flow), advance license documents, price break up. 

  • Identifying the risk and opportunities and planning for immediate actions. 

  • Preparation of Dispatch Instructions finalizing transporters  

  • Dispatching the material as per erection sequence at site. 

  • Follow up for stage payments and final payments   

  • Exposure to ISO systems and controlled documentation. 

  • Documenting changes, revisions, NCR, DCR and maintaining the same to base line of project  

  • Focus on continuous improvement in the System performance, cost reduction through optimization of resources, materials etc… 

  • Visit to site and monitoring site progress and arranging shortages immediately. 

  • Completion of all contractual obligations as per PO, preparation of close out report 

  • Post project reviews and feedback from clients. 

  • Support site team during installation and commissioning 

 

Desired profile –  

 

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, PMP certified (optional) 

  • 6 to 8 years project management experience in EPC /Material handling, Automation or related field. 

  • Commercial experience with sales proposals and contract terms and conditions.  

  • Experience dealing directly with end customers preferably Govt organization 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures, and schedule management tools   

 

Mandatory Skills – 

  • Leadership and presentation skills including relentless problem solving, results orientation  

  • Should have positive approach, right attitude etc. 

  • Ability to effectively lead and work under pressure, 

  • Ability to work constructively with all stakeholders, building both internal and external relationships, 

  • Proficiency in the application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Office) 

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills 

  • Negotiation skill and commercial experience to manage contract scope changes directly with clients, suppliers  

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and company ethics 

  • Strong bias for following processes and continual process improvement 

  • Strong sense of time urgency for critical-path project items, milestones, and key project deliverables
