Management of planning activities through last planner and T- related engagement with subcontractors and third parties to confirm and validate site readiness to ensure a successful execution throughout a project lifecycle to include recognition of potential risks and opportunities, conflict resolution and ability to facilitate necessary discussions at respective levels within the project team.

Ownership and accountability for all aspects of site management execution inclusive of safety, quality and design assurance from Pre-Construction to handover.

Champion site management processes, ensuring optimisations are identified and embedded in conjunction with the Senior Site Manager to improve execution on site and support continuous improvement initiatives. 

Be an ambassador for Vanderlande’s stay safe culture, striving for achievement of zero LTI’s and RIDDORs on site through championing safe working practices, Vanderlande’s Stay Safe culture and implementation of the project HSE plan.

Build Reputation with Customers

Responsible for liaison and interface management with relevant stakeholders, to support a safe, efficient, and effective execution of all work packages whilst safeguarding a satisfactory resolution where ambiguity resides.

Focal point for driving right first-time installations with early engagement and alignment to support gateways and project milestones creating a continuous and unimpeded transition between activities on site.

Drive to Win

Organise and manage multi-disciplinary installation activities.  Identify and analyse risks and opportunities, initiating adequate corrective/ preventive measures providing updates to the wider project team.  Proactively seek and identify optimisation and delegate responsibilities throughout the site team to support successful achievement and alignment with continuous improvement initiatives, embedding best practice whilst driving a positive safety culture.

Control of subcontractor planned vs. actual progress and supporting the Senior Site Manager in evaluating the advantages of initiatives identified and designed to mitigate slippage e.g. cost of overtime vs benefit from acceleration in the most efficient manner.

Team Play

Manage a team of multi-disciplined site supervisors individually and collectively providing guidance and mentorship supporting KPI’s and objectives in addition to ensuring satisfactory completion of deputized responsibilities.

Maintain a cohesive working environment where ownership and accountabilities are unambiguous within the site team and executed through empowerment, delegated authority and motivation.

Support the Senior Site Manager with initiatives, positively influence efficiencies and improvements within both the site team and subcontractors.

Every day better

Promote sustainable & continuously improving optimization of a safe working culture, project schedule and quality standards on site.  Manage the quality assurance process, proactively identifying enhancements and working with the Senior Site Manager to embed within the standard way of working.

Take ownership of everyday better initiatives on site through implementation of lessons learnt and wider function collaboration. Undertake regular gap analysis and implement improvements in conjunction with the Senior Site Manager where inefficiencies are identified through collaborative and agreed objectives.

Safe Base & We Care

Leader in safety & quality, setting high standards on site.  Proven technical background, with strong management and communication skills.  Can demonstrate the ability to communicate with all levels of the site team providing factual input in a timely manner.  Be empathetic whilst possessing the ability to be assertive and accomplish results through guidance to achieve optimal output from the site supervisors collectively and individually.  Ability to balance competing priorities whilst maintaining a safe environment and meeting deadlines in a pressured, time critical delivery.

Will be a key influencer in encouraging the promotion of Stay Safe culture across the whole site

Desired Experience:

  • 5+ Years experience in successfully managing teams during delivery of medium and large projects in a demanding environment with proven results
  • Successful proven management on of all phases within a project lifecycle, ranging from pre-construction through to handover
  • Managing a multi-functional team, interfacing with clients where appropriate, and chairing meetings locally at site level as required. Adept at conflict resolution
  • Possess an awareness and understanding of CDM Regulations and HASWA.
  • Possess the ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, layouts and successfully interpret project schedules
  • Ability to create robust site planning to complement the master project schedule through owning last planner activities and management of the 6WIS and T- engagement
  • Production, validation and execution of documentation deliverables
  • IT literate, capable of using MS Office and Outlook as a minimum
  • Proven Safety record through site management and installation delivery within time critical and pressurised working environments
  • Possess the ability to champion Vanderlande’s Stay Safe Culture and safe working ethos
  • Be able to provide robust reports and drive progress whilst maintaining Vanderlande’s quality standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • SMSTS Trained as a minimum
  • Experience within baggage system installations
  • NVQ Level 7 or equivalent
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Higher Level technical qualification
  • NEC3: ECC Supervisor Accreditation
  • CSCS Black Management Card
