Your department
As a Software Engineer you are part of the Technical Information Systems team (part of the ICT department) and consists of 25 people. The team develops and maintains various internal Windows applications that are used by more than 2000 colleagues. These colleagues work in very diverse engineering disciplines such as lay out, mechanical, electromechanical, controls and simulation.
The project engineers use these tools to design and deliver transport systems in the most efficient way possible. The tools include:
ESoT: CAD tool for 3D design including a product configurator that automatically determines parts lists
Generator Suite: including code generator to automatically generate PLC control programs
EmulatePD: Emulation software to test PLC control programs
Your function
As a Software engineer you work on the Vanderlande software package ESoT, which stands for Engineering Suite of Tools. This software gives the Vanderlande engineers the ability to draw a 3D system (somewhat similar to making a roller coaster in the video game Rollercoaster Tycoon) and is currently used by more than 900 colleagues worldwide. The software team working on ESoT software consists of 13 people. Under the direction of a Software Architect, you work on new software tools, maintain existing software and expand it with new functionalities. You are responsible for drawing up the design, programming and testing the software. The software is mainly written in C# and C++, using WPF, XAML, Azure, Await/ASync, Linq, ProtoBuf, STL & Boost. You are supported in this by experienced colleagues who are ready for you. As a team you are close to the internal customer and provide support.
If you have experience with Azure and you can help us take our cloud platform to the next level, we are explicitly looking for you. Or if you are an UI hero and XAML/WPF has no more secrets for you, then you'll have an advantage.
If these are not your strongest points, but the vacancy appeals to you, we would also like to speak to you.
