Your role
The Sourcing Manager – IT Hardware for is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing and procurement of IT hardware (e.g., servers, laptops, networking equipment, storage devices, other technology assets) to support the company's global operations. This role focuses on developing and managing relationships with key vendors, negotiating contracts, optimizing costs, ensuring supply continuity, and aligning procurement activities with business goals in line with the legal, regulatory compliances across globe. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders such as IT, finance, legal, and global supply chain teams. This role demands strategic thinking, and effective communication with global stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes across multiple functions within the organization. You will be integral to projects in the Warehousing, Parcel, and Airport markets.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for IT hardware categories to meet current and future business needs.
- Lead the procurement process, including supplier identification, RFP/RFI management, negotiation of pricing, and contract terms.
- Ensure global supply chain reliability, managing risks related to supplier performance, delivery times, and quality.
- Drive initiatives to reduce costs, improve supplier performance, and foster innovation.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with IT hardware vendors and suppliers.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, service levels, and business expectations.
- Negotiate contracts for IT hardware, focusing on cost optimization, quality, and long-term partnership benefits.
- Ensure contracts meet legal, financial, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with internal global teams including IT, finance, legal, and operations to ensure that procurement processes align with overall business goals.
- Work with technical teams to understand and define IT hardware requirements and specifications.
- Monitor market trends in IT hardware, including technology advancements, supplier landscape, and pricing dynamics.
- Conduct benchmarking exercises to ensure that the company’s IT hardware procurement is competitive.
- Ensure compliance with global procurement policies, local regulations, and company standards.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives within the procurement process to align with corporate sustainability goals.
- Utilize data analytics to track and report procurement performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT hardware assets, from procurement to disposal, ensuring optimal use, upgrades, and replacements.
- Ensure timely renewal and replacement of hardware to avoid disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.
Job Requirements (skills and experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field with relevant certification like CIPS, CPM, or ITIL etc.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in sourcing and procurement, with a focus on IT hardware in a global environment and conversant with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Proven track record of driving cost savings and managing large-scale hardware procurement in an enterprise environment with strong knowledge of IT hardware categories, including servers, storage, networking, and peripherals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the global organization.
- Effective time management skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to set own goals and get things done with Hands-on experience in costing activities, utilizing cost estimation programs.
- Ability to understand the VOICE of customer and translate that to action and drive the actions for continuous improvement.
- Sense of customer service, cross functional team player, relationship builder
- Knowledge of contract law, import/export regulations, and compliance standards related to IT hardware procurement.
- Familiarity with sustainable procurement practices and emerging trends in IT hardware.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and trade policies related to IT hardware.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives globally.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones and cultures.
- Good command of English, both verbal and written
- Willingness to travel, up to 30%.
