Your responsibilities

As a Structural Sales Engineer you are part of the Sales Support Office that provides support on sales engineering core competencies for global sales projects and execute developments for sales teams worldwide. The Structural Sales Engineer is responsible for providing project support and executing developments on one or more important sales engineering core competencies.

Sales Engineering Core competency: set of interrelated knowledge that is required to engineer and sell of a customer bid. Examples of core competency: Pricing, Documentation, 3D Visualization.

Since you will support global sales teams, you need to be able to work with colleagues that have diverse backgrounds and cultures. Major part of the support is done remotely so clear communication between you and the sales team(s) is key.

The Structural Sales Engineer needs to master skills and content within the core competency area to be able to advise sales teams and relieve sales colleagues on specific customer questions related to that core competencies. The Sales environment is fast and dynamic and therefore requires a flexible attitude and careful planning skills. 

Your profile

You have:

  • completed a technical program at Bachelor or Master’s level;

  • a minimum of 5 years of experience in an international engineering company; preferably focused on material handling solutions;

  • experience in working with teams, ideally with international teams;

  • sufficient skills in oral and written Dutch and English (other languages such as French, German and/or Spanish ​​would be advantageous).

Your qualifications and skills

If you’re an experienced, enthusiastic and versatile Structural Sales Engineer, you will excel at:

  • Consulting sales teams worldwide;

  • planning, executing and handing-over sales support activities;

  • planning, preparing and leading global sales engineering developments with core competencies (documents, toolsets etc.);

  • Provide feedback, give best practices and train to improve our global sales teams;

  • aligning with stakeholders (each department that is somehow involved in the activities as part of your core competency);

  • managing deadlines and milestones;

This vacancy is focused on the core competency Steelworks & Maintainability. To be able to do your job well, you should have working knowledge on:

  • what role steelwork plays in material handling solutions;

  • knowledge on accessibility and maintainability of material handling solutions;

Because the content might be different per continent, all knowledge should be focused on a global scale.
