Job Description – Transition Manager

We are looking for a dynamic transition manager to join our company. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing operational transitions in our company and ensuring that the transitions are implemented according to schedule and budget. You'll also update management, personnel, and clients on any prospective transition-related changes. To ensure success as a transition manager, you should be able to proactively spot any transition challenges and solve them as quickly as possible. Ultimately, a top-notch transition manager should demonstrate mastery of the transition process to minimize any associated costs or risks.

This role is a fast paced, high volume FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE environment that supports global business and operations that use JD Edwards application for financial accounting and reporting. Transition Manager FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE is responsible for managing the changes within FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE as part of the Future of Finance changes without jeopardizing the current service level towards the organization. He/she oversees the total transition and track milestones
The transition manager has a significant role during the FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE transformation journey.

Essential Functions

  • The role requires the individual to participate in Fact Finding, Data Health & End to End scoping, Blue printing & Transition planning
  • Responsible for securing all processes are handed over according to standard process
  • This individual is responsible for successfully executing the transition which will primarily include preparation of training and transition plan,
  • Securing together with the PROCESS OWNER Ensuring that detailed SOPs, assessments, checklists are developed and signed-off
  • Preparation of MILO, Planning and managing the capacity and resources (FTE scoping) required to manage transitions
  • Ensure that any GAPS, deviation to the process is reviewed and signed off by the PROCESS OWNER
  • Securing together with PROCESS OWNER’s the KPI’s and measurements are in place and rolled out to the company
  • Support the change management within FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE (ADKAR)
  • Responsible for securing all processes are handed over according to standard process
  • Secure that the infrastructure is ready to receive the incoming services (desk, access, equipment etc.)
  • Monitor handover activities and signal and escalate deviations in early stage
  • Communicate and align planning with other transition managers, project managers, PROCESS OWNER’s FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE managers 
  • Monitor performance during transition in cooperation with FINANCE SHARED SERVICE CENTRE management
  • Securing together with the PROCESS OWNER the SLA’s are in place and rolled out to the company
  • Securing together with PROCESS OWNER’s the KPI’s and measurements are in place and rolled out to the company
  • Reporting into project manager on weekly basis on progress of transitions.
  • Know and comply with Vanderlande policies: Global Ethics, Values, Management Environmental Safety and Security and Health
  • Holds himself/herself and others accountable for demonstrating ethical behaviour.

Basic Minimum Requirements

  • M.Com/MBA (Finance) with working experience of RTR/PTP/OTC/Payroll work streams.
  • 12+ years of total experience in finance domain. knowledge for GL/FA  and good understanding of OTC and PTP encompassing overall accounting as the area
  • Expertise in Project Management for end-to-end financial process transition
  • Lean Six Sigma, Prince2 or other related certification is preferable.
  • Hands on knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral English communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across boundaries/business lines
  • Flexible to support NA/EMEA/APAC shift working as per project requirement.
  • Readiness for international travel >=50%
