The position
In your role as Functional application consultant ITSM at Vanderlande, you will play a crucial role in optimizing IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and systems to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our global 24×7 operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective ITSM solutions. Your expertise in ITIL principles, service design, and process improvement will drive continuous enhancement of our ITSM capabilities.
As a team member of the Service tooling competence center, you will be managing the design, release, and continuous improvement of the ITSM tools that enables our global IT & Remote services organization to successfully manage their service processes.
In your role, you are a mature sparring partner for senior management, service capability owners, and multidisciplinary development teams to realize the committed roadmap. In addition, you closely work together with a team of other service tooling consultants that embed and support the solutions in related disciplines such as Asset management, Contract Management and Service Transition management.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Business partner – Act as a sparring partner of capability owners, service managers and subject matter experts.
- Requirement Gathering – Work closely with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements related to IT service management.
- Solution Design – Design and implement ITSM processes aligned with ITIL best practices and Vanderlande’s business objectives.
- Process Improvement – Continuously evaluate and improve ITSM processes in the tools to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and user satisfaction.
- Integration Management – Collaborate with corporate ICT and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration between ITSM systems and other IT infrastructure components.
- User Acceptance – Develop and conduct user acceptance testing to ensure that tooling and process developments meet specific business needs and requirements.
- Release management – Manage the periodic release cycle of the ITSM tools including training and support to key-users and support teams on (new) ITSM processes, tools, and best practices.
- Documentation – Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Quality Assurance – Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ITSM standards and policies.
Your profile

We believe that the right candidate at least meets the following requirements:
- Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as an ITSM Consultant or SME or similar role, preferably in a global organization.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices with design and architecture experience.
- Must have: Experience with designing and implementing ITSM tools such as IBM Maximo, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, SAP or similar.
- Creative mindset, strong customer focus, ability to translate varying customer needs into solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent command of English language.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 10%).

This position offers a salary range of €5287,81 – € 7100,77 (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
