Your Position

As an HSE Business Partner, you will play a vital role in fostering and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment across your designated sites. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels to develop, implement, and sustain effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Your objectives are to minimise risks, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and promote a culture of safety and sustainability.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update HSE policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Clearly communicate policies across the organization.

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.

  • Implement measures to mitigate risks and improve safety standards.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.

  • Design and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels.

  • Ensure staff are adequately trained in emergency procedures, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain records of training and certifications and conduct regular HSE audits and inspections.

  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies.

  • Monitor and analyse HSE performance metrics and trends.

  • Recommend and implement improvements based on data analysis.

  • Serve as a point of contact for HSE matters within the organization.

  • Collaborate with management, employees, and external stakeholders to promote HSE initiatives.

  • Participate in safety committees and other relevant meetings.

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate emergency response drills and training.

  • Act as a first responder in case of emergencies and act as a return-to-work coordinator

About You

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent

  • Cert IV in TAE and 3+ years of construction HSE experience

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card) and First Aid Certificate

  • RTW Coordinator Certificate

  • Experience in WH&S/HSE management techniques and tools

  • Strong knowledge of applicable safety legislation, codes, and Australian Standards

  • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email software.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and supervise HSE operations, including conducting and interpreting audits, risk assessments, and reviews.

  • Ability to build and maintain healthy relationships with staff, contractors, and customers.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities

  • Provide reporting and presentations related to safety forums 

  • Participate as member of the site management team 

  • Process owner for safety related incidents and work including managing corrective actions 

  • Travel across multiple (Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland)
