The R&D Controls Engineer is part of a multidisciplinary team who are responsible for developing and refining products and processes for use in the automated logistics industry. The R&D Controls Engineer is largely focused on programming, but is also engaged in aspects of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical, and systems design. This role provides opportunities to display leadership, and opportunities for promotion. This role also involves travel from time to time, both domestically and internationally.
The products and processes developed by the R&D group are used by Vanderlande in large scale logistics projects for airports, parcel delivery, warehousing, distribution, retail, and e-commerce. Some example Vanderlande products include Shoe Sorters, Cross-Belt Sorters, Pop-up Transfer Sorters, Tilt-Tray Sorters, Bomb-bay Sorters, various types of Belt Conveyor, Individual Carrier Systems (ICS), AGVs/AMRs, Robotics, Custom Software, and more.
