Job Title: SCCM Application Packaging & Patch Automation Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SCCM / Intune Application Packaging Specialist who will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of application packaging, testing, and deployment using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM). The ideal candidate will also have deep expertise in automating OEM patches, streamlining the patch management process from OEM source to deployment via SCCM/MECM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ideal candidates should also be familiar with co-management, Intune, and MEM architecture.
- Package, test, and deploy applications using SCCM in accordance with enterprise standards and timelines.
- Analyze software requirements and perform application repackaging using SCCM builtin tools.
- Maintain a library of tested and validated software packages.
- Design and implement automated patching workflows to streamline updates from OEM vendors (primarily HP) into SCCM.
- Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) for automation of routine application deployment and patching tasks.
- Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure timely deployment of security patches.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and report on the status of deployments and compliance using SCCM dashboards and reporting tools.
- Keep documentation up-to-date, including SOPs and deployment guides.
- Collaborate with IT support and desktop engineering teams to resolve application-related issues and incidents.
- Implement advanced strategies for patch testing, deployment, and rollback.
- Develop and present insights and recommendations to IT management.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends and share knowledge within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in SCCM/MECM application packaging and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with MSI, MST, MSP creation, and PowerShell scripting.
- Strong experience in OEM patch automation and integrating third-party updates (e.g. HP Image Assistant) into SCCM.
- Proficiency with task sequences, custom detection methods, and SCCM reporting (SSRS or Power BI).
- Deep understanding of Windows operating systems and application compatibility.
- Experience with application lifecycle management and enterprise ITSM tools.
- Knowledge of Intune and modern endpoint management tools is a plus.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- ITIL Foundation Certification
