Department:

The ICT Operations & Core Systems department is responsible for the technical backbone of the organization's information and communication technology (ICT) systems. This department is divided into several sections including Infrastructure, Workplace, ICT Service Centre, Asset Management, and Collaboration Services. The ICT Service Centre is a department responsible for providing technical support to end-users within an organization. They are staffed with skilled technicians who respond to requests for assistance, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, or network systems that end-users may encounter. Their goal is to ensure that end-users can work productively with minimal disruptions by providing timely and efficient technical support, guidance, and training. The ICT Service Centre is critical in minimizing downtime and increasing overall productivity within the organization.

What will you be doing

Our company is seeking an outgoing, empathetic, and supportive Senior Skilled First Line Support Engineer with Network Experience. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for providing first line support to our internal organization while sharing knowledge and creating a constant shift left to promote self-service. You will play a critical role in knowledge transfer within the first line and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support. You excel at communication, building relationships, and collaboration. You are emotionally intelligent, creative problem solvers, and promote a positive team environment.

The ideal candidate will possess technical skills to support an ICT environment and have experience working with networks. However, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members is equally important. You will be a contact person for others, and you must have a passion for helping others, be willing to learn, and work on continuous improvement and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line support to our customers, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.

  • Create a constant shift left to promote self-service and keep the support team challenged.

  • Ensure knowledge transfer within the first line and that our customers receive the best possible support.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.

  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team of individuals with varying levels of experience.

  • Continuously improve and develop your technical and soft skills.

What do we ask from you:

  • Experience working with networks and providing (skilled) first line support.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and good at resolving technical issues.

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others.

  • An open character and a willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse team of individuals.

  • A desire to learn and continuously improve your technical and soft skills.

  • Knowledge of FMIS like TOPdesk.

  • Understanding of campus LAN/Wi-Fi technologies, preferably with knowledge of Aruba switches, access points, and Aruba ClearPass.

  • Understanding of network automation is an advantage, preferably with knowledge of Ansible.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 3.900 to € 4.700 gross per month Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
