Your role
As Senior Security Specialist you are involved in information and cyber security in a number of different ways within Vanderlande:

You are part of different business and ICT projects as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for information and cyber security. In this role you assess and spot potential security risks and provide guidance on how to reduce or mitigate these.

You ensure that projects and changes in which you are involved align and are compliant with our information security policies.

You are the security owner of a number of security controls. In this specific role, these are mostly with a heavy ICT focus, such as on-premise and cloud infrastructures. Being the security owner of a control means that you keep the policies and standards up to date, and provide guidance to those they apply to on how to properly implement them.

You are an important ambassador for the security department, and capable of handling both technological deep dives and business logic discussions.

Vanderlande is a growing international organization, that is renowned worldwide for her innovative material handling systems for distribution centers and parcel companies and for baggage handling systems for airports.
The Information Security department is a growing team of highly educated and skilled people. The department fills a crucial role within Vanderlande for both corporate security and the security of our solutions.
Your profile

Higher education in Information Security or proven equivalent knowledge gained in a previous role
-
At least 3 years of experience within an Information Security related function, or 5 years in an ICT related function with a heavy focus on security activities in your daily work

Affinity and experience with working Agile in both a Scrum and KANBAN approach

Information Security Certifications are a plus

Languages: Dutch, English
Knowledge areas
-
Broad knowledge of security in the Information Technology (IT) fields

Strong knowledge of how IT technology works, both in a traditional (servers, networks, clients, etc.) and modern (cloud / cloud-native, API-driven, etc.) architecture with a high level of automation

Knowledge of the ISO27k series of standards

Red teaming and/or offensive security skills are considered a plus
Soft skills

Capability to translate business and customer requirements into security requirements and vice versa

Capable to individually / independently determine when to escalate / deescalate

Comfortable to deliver in a high-pace and agile work environment

Well-developed personal leadership skills
You should also be capable of spotting areas of improvement and initiate the necessary improvement actions. Flexibility and excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to work in the highly dynamic and international environment of Vanderlande.
