Assignment type: Graduation
Start date: February 2024
Assignment duration: 5/6 months
Location: Veghel
Desired study: ICT & Mechatronics
Educational Level: Bachelor
Language: English
Description of the assignment:
Within our department we develop PLC software for airports. The software is requirement and stress tested in-house before it goes to site. The testing is done manually and partially with Test Automation Framework, a set of software that is configured to execute certain tests with certain parameters in a scheduled way. This allows our engineers to debug the PLC software more efficiently in the office and deliver it to site with the agreed quality, costs and timing, that meet our customer's needs.
Test steps in this automation software are being written manually, which is time consuming. In 2020 a graduate student has developed a test generation software which generates test code for the users of Test Automation Framework.
Functionality of this tool is quite limited and it is not flexible enough to be used by projects.
We would like to offer students the opportunity to contribute to the development of our software tools and show to the projects that this can be used.
Department description:
Are you looking to develop your career and satisfy your ambitions at a company where you can aspire to new heights, enjoy personal growth and thrive on achievement? At Vanderlande, we are seeking passionate and ambitious people, capable of making a positive impact on our key customer projects, while developing a successful and prosperous career in a challenging and rewarding international environment.
Vanderlande Industries delivers material handling systems to control discreet product flows in buildings (think about distribution centers for postal services, sorting centers for package delivery and baggage handling systems on airports). The department baggage handling is designing, producing and implementing airports worldwide. The systems are all different in size and complexity.
As an intern you will work in the department on your own project, but next to the engineers which are working on customer projects. This gives you the possibility to give full attention at your own project, but you can consult the project engineers, and you will know how they can use the result of your project.
Tasks / Responsibilities:
Test generation program works with a library of test sets, yet there is still no possibility for deviating from templates. This would be extremely handy since criteria of testing can vary for each different system that we are designing for our clients. We want you to make a design for the changes, get all requirements of the future users and upgrade the test generation software.
We expect you to test and validate all your work in a structured way. So it will become professional.
As an intern we want you to give a demo to all controls engineers and show the benefits.
Skills / Additional criteria for selection:
