Are you an experienced PLC engineer looking to create and maintain our PLC code library in our Distribution Tool Suite (DTS)? Do you like to standardize code, and drive controls strategy decision making? And finally, do you like to commission new functionality on site? Then apply now for the position of Controls Project Engineer in our ESO team.
The Engineering Support Office (ESO) is responsible for all supporting activities towards our Engineering department. Firstly, they drive standardization on engineering level, covering development and maintenance of tooling and modules for engineering. Also, it manages our custom-built Engineering Suite Of Tools, which enables Vanderlande Engineers to use standard building blocks as part of a system. The team consists of mechanical, controls, and electrical engineers, each managing their own part of standardization. Furthermore, they act as liaison between R&D and Engineering, both in our projects as well as in development and upgrading of modules, and New Product Introduction.
In this position, it is all about standardizing our tools and processes. You will have a multitude of interesting responsibilities, including:
Creating and maintaining our library of PLC-code. Based on input from R&D, suppliers, and Project Engineers, you incorporate new or improved code into the library.
Drive controls strategy decision making. Interacting with R&D, controls project engineers, electrical project engineers and your peer in our Warehousing department, you will drive decision making on how to standardize, optimize and create new functionality, eg. when implementing new (3rd party) equipment in our library.
Support commissioning when new functionality is used on site for the first time (NPI-support).
Support the Engineering team in any questions they have, and handling issues on library level.
Train users of your library.
You are an experienced PLC engineer. You know your way around in our default function blocks and STL. Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley RSLogix is preferred. You want to travel, mostly in case of needed support for new functionality on site. You enjoy coding and optimizing and have a natural drive for standardization. And last, you naturally support and help people who encounter issues during the use of our library.
