In the Airport and Parcel Solutions business unit (APS) we have a position available for an Electrical Engineer in the Technical Product Management department (TPM). We’ll give you the opportunity to work in an inspiring and challenging work environment.

Your department

Our company is becoming a platform based company, which actually means that we use a solid set of standard modules (building blocks) linked to the engineering processes, which is used throughout our global organization.

The Technical Product Management department is a global, knowledgeable team of multidisciplinary product managers and discipline experts responsible for building the bridges between departments within Vanderlande and ensure product and process alignment for all disciplines. The core tasks of our team are sales and project execution support, the introduction of new products, development of our platform solutions and integrating continuous improvements.

With our department we focus on maximizing CTO (Configure To Order) value and minimizing ETO (Engineering to Order) efforts, were we contribute to the deployment of our platform based Airport and Parcel solutions.

Your position

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll have a key role in the electrical design and implementation of our Airports platform modules.

You will be working in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and responsible for creating, maintaining and improving content for our libraries that enable us to fully generate the Single Line Diagrams and Layout Diagrams (used for cable routing, wire duct routing, and equipment overviews). Currently we use EPLANs Cogineer and AutoCAD to develop and generate the drawing based on pre-defined macro’s and blocks. In addition we  create tools and templates that enable the global project engineering departments to specify field materials such as cables, wire ducts and other materials. The library files are mostly Excel and XML based and together with in house developed productivity tooling it will help us to enrich our data driven engineering process and generate the required project deliverables.

During each quarter, you work on newly added modules, bug and improvements with respect to the engineering deliverable. These are released into our global organization at the end of each quarter. 

During the sales phase of a project you’ll play an important role to make sure we sell what we have according to our platform modules, while during the engineering phase of a project you will make sure we are successful in applying our platform modules. In addition, you collect the lessons learned and determine the way forward together with the members of the competence team Electrical Engineering, which you are part off.  

Your profile

Successfully completed education at MBO (vocational education) level in Electrical Engineering:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an Industrial work environment.
  • Good command of the English language is required, Dutch is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hardware architectures and industrial networks.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and EPLAN.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian products such as Jira and Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of XML based data structures.
  • Process driven team player and eager to learn.
  • Balance workload between pro-active and re-active activities.
  • Recognizing user-needs: site electrical installation experience is a pre.
  • Affinity with automating processes.
  • User-needs-first mindse.

This position offers a competitive salary range of €3.600 to €4.800 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
