Description of assignment
For the system engineering activities, solution design and integration of the solution, a trustworthy costing model is lacking.
This costing model should support both the long-term resource plan for the department, up to 3 years, as well as our sales calculation tool used for each single customer project. A trustworthy model will increase the accuracy of both and will speed up the pricing process as well as reducing the effort of the most senior resources.
The model should cover all multidisciplinary Warehousing customer projects, from small to very large, from existing projects to completely new projects, and for the complete international scope.
Department description
The department consists of a group of very motivated, highly skilled and helpful people with a broad variety of nationalities. There will be interaction with multiple departments like strategic costing and verification, Sales, and others. You will report to one of the line managers of the Solution Design and Integration department. However, the information required to build the costing model should be gained by interviewing/discussing with people in- and outside the department. You also get the opportunity to visit one or more sites to get a great impression!
Tasks/responsibilities

Create and validate a trustworthy costing model, including clear insights in the data and assumptions where it is built on and having defined its limits.

The model should include the major cost drivers, being validated on historical data as well as interviews with senior members of the department.

The model should be transparent so that the impact of future changes can be adapted easily.

Part of the assignment is also to create a plan on how to create and validate this model.
Your profile

Ability to process financial data e.g. in Excel.

Entrepreneurship (self-starting, taking initiative, proposing way forward)

Good communication skills in English (discuss, interviewing, present…)

Affinity with industrial automation and related IT solutions to control these systems.
