What are my responsibilities?
- Review and analysis of the tender requirements from all aspects of technical, performance, and operational needs to develop technically compliant and cost-effective electrical solution.
- Define and prepare the electrical and control philosophy and associated costs for inclusion in the overall price.
- Develop detailed electrical proposals for CHS and BHS, including power distribution, control systems, automation, Lighting, UPS, and safety systems.
- Evaluate and select appropriate electrical components (cabinets, drives, cables, sensors, etc.) based on client specifications, project scope, and regulatory standards
- Generate the technical and commercial proposal documentation to be submitted.
- Prepare cost estimates for electrical equipment, installation, and testing, ensuring alignment with budget constraints.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure electrical designs are fully integrated into the overall material handling system.
- Prepare BOQs & BOMs to support the estimation function.
- Facilitate the overall system solutions development in coordination with the team.
- Value Engineering of the Electrical and LLC system design to develop cost-effective system solutions for all Bids & Proposals, including selecting OEM system components, input on pricing estimates, manpower plans, and associated phasing/scheduling activities.
- Write an explanation of the system function regarding Electrical and LLC and operation for inclusion in the offer documentation.
- Collaborate and present to other industry experts, consultants, clients, and subcontractors on the technical aspects of the system design.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience in Airport Material Handling Systems.
- Preferable experience with Bid/Proposals activities for Baggage Handling Systems and/or Cargo Handling Systems.
- Possess proficiency in IEC, BS, and DEWA standards and regulations related to electrical engineering.
- Experienced in short circuit analysis, voltage drop, power factor, and harmonics.
- Experienced with network topologies based on ASiBus, Profibus, Profinet, as well as fiber optic networks and their implementation in industrial settings.
- Experience in building electrical concepts for Material Handling Systems
- Able to demonstrate experience in reviewing/analyzing tender requirements from all aspects of technical, performance, and operational needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders/management.
- Able to develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexible working approach and capability to manage workload, a team player who can train others and share knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
