With a rich history of innovation and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations, we are seeking a dynamic Operations & Maintenance Manager to join our dedicated team in Wiri, Auckland.

Your Position

As the Operations & Maintenance Manager at Vanderlande Industries, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the customer regarding all operational and technical matters. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations & Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance and operations teams. Additionally, you will play an active role in fostering the growth and success of our service offerings.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of the entire site automated material handling system.

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of our site-based service team, operating in a cold environment zero 

  • Lead and manage the site-based maintenance team.

  • Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to ensure efficient maintenance operations.

  • Identify contract variations and sales opportunities onsite.

  • Continuously enhance the performance of the site-based maintenance team.

  • Communicate performance metrics internally and with customers.

  • Manage shift schedules and activities of the site-based service teams.

  • Identify improvement opportunities, develop improvement plans, and implement them effectively.

  • Handle escalations and site incidents around 24/7 basis

  • Drive performance improvement initiatives.

  • Provide coordination during significant incidents.

About You

  • Possesses a Technical Education background, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

  • Proven track record in a management or team leader role.

  • Background in automated handling systems, logistics industry, and/or system integration business is preferred.

  • Exhibits strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experienced in collaborating with 3rd party service providers as subcontractors.

  • Familiarity with service contracts is advantageous.

  • Possesses an entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrates natural leadership with a strong personality.

  • Shows a strong customer focus and a drive for continuous improvement.

  • Capable of thinking and acting on a long-term basis, including building, planning, and executing vision.

  • Autonomous, highly self-driven, and willing to be hands-on when necessary.
