Sales Engineer II

As part of the Sales Engineering team, you will be responsible to identify and analyze customer’s requirements to create desired solutions.  You will need to fully understand customer needs and effectively work with different departments to accurately provide technical and commercial solutions with a competitive price. You will present solutions in a clear and understandable manner to our customers. You will design unique products ranging from site-based service teams to retrofitting and modernization of existing equipment.  You will report to the Manager of Sales Engineering Services.


  • Lead proposal and pricing effort
  • Organize and conduct operations and sales price meetings
  • Convert system design into a technical solution
  • Follow company procedures and guidelines to estimate related costs and customer price
  • Gain necessary approvals and create formal price documents
  • Write technical and commercial proposals
  • Clarify design and proposal with the customers as needed
  • Effectively apply cost models and contribute towards continuous improvement
  • Lead proposal efforts and communicate with business partners as needed
  • Single point of contact for proposal related inquiries
  • Prepare and deliver handover documents for order entry
  • Identify risks and opportunities and maintain relevant registers
  • Actively share lessons learned
  • Guide less experienced team members
  • Attend trainings and seminars
  • Be able to multi-task.  Go an extra mile when needed
  • Build strong intra-company relationships

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline
  • In lieu of a degree, working level experience of at least 5 years in airports, warehouse, parcel or other material handling systems
  • Excellent knowledge of automation systems design based on the logistical system concepts for large scale projects
  • Excellent knowledge of operation and maintenance concepts for airports, passenger boarding bridges, ware-house and parcel facilities
  • Strong team player
  • Demonstrated history of successfully completing bids on time and under budget meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to build long term customer relationships
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Excellent sales acumen
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial international organization, especially working within a project organization, where cooperating with others and being a team member is a must.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance of material handling systems
  • Site management of operations team
  • Experience in factory accepting testing (FAT) and preparing test procedures
  • Experience in installation and commissioning
  • Experience in design and service of passenger boarding bridges
  • Project Management experience
  • Field construction experience
  • Procurement management experience
  • HR and legal knowledge in pricing site-based teams
  • Knowledge of regulations related to prevailing wage and union labor
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards
