I never say “no” to a challenge, even if it means that I have to learn new things along the way. Working at Vanderlande has given me the confidence to embrace this positive way of thinking.

My job is fascinating because it is made up of a variety of roles. I collaborate with global software development teams, supporting them in their day-to-day tasks by providing guidance and offering solutions to help achieve our goals.

Another hat I wear is that of a developer. I work in a team called CNAP, which is short for Cloud-native Application Platform. What I like about this is working with people across the world. I’m the team’s only representative from Pune, and other members hail from Germany, Canada and our headquarters in The Netherlands.

Our growing software development team in India is always on the lookout for talented people who can add value to our R&D efforts. I take great pride in introducing such people to the company because Vanderlande is such a great place to work. We have a people-centric culture and are always working on exciting new technologies that keep us at the forefront of the logistics automation world.

Working in a multicultural team has its perks. The diverse outlook of my teammates, troubleshooting, and finding the best solutions are all exciting – the brainstorming sessions are great fun!

My job has given me immense confidence, to say the least. Part of that comes from travelling to Europe, something I had not done in my previous job. I remember when I landed in Dusseldorf for the first time, I saw the Vanderlande logo on the baggage carousel – I am proud of who I work for.

I like the leadership style at Vanderlande. I feel well supported and have been given many opportunities since I joined. Those I work with have shown trust and confidence in me, which has proved to be motivational and allowed me to do my best.

In the future, I would like to take on more responsibilities, and maybe even try a cross-functional role. For the tech-minded, Vanderlande has much to offer and is well known for its creative thinking. When I visited the company’s Innovation Centre in Veghel, I was amazed by the automation on display. I would love the opportunity to explore this type of automation in more depth and collaborate with engineering teams. Our teams are multi-disciplinary and it’s quite inspiring how everyone comes together to deliver a new product.

Away from work, I like to read motivational books. I think it was Richard Branson who said, “If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say ‘yes’ – then learn how to do it later!” This thinking has helped me grow as a person and professional at Vanderlande.
