I specialise in ERP and use the JD Edwards platform to do my job. My main responsibilities are to help our manufacturing and warehouse teams to efficiently deliver products and services to our customers. I have also worked on a number interesting projects, helping the company to reduce shipping costs, automate and optimise warehouse operations, and cut down on our use of paper by exploiting digital technology.

I came to Vanderlande because I was looking for a new challenge. Having worked for service-based IT companies for ten years, I was excited to join a product-based organisation. It’s an extremely interesting environment because the company works across three domains, providing logistic automation solutions to warehouses, airports and parcel companies.

When I started here in October 2022, every member from the manufacturing division with JD Edwards expertise was based in The Netherlands or Spain. Joining a large and complex organisation like Vanderlande could have been quite challenging for me as a newcomer. However, I was fortunate to have incredibly supportive teammates who helped me settle in smoothly.

I also had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the company’s headquarters in Veghel, The Netherlands. The two-week trip allowed me to start building personal relationships with colleagues and get to know more about the business. I enjoyed walking through the factory and seeing how things worked.

Everyone I met was really friendly, reflecting Vanderlande’s genuinely collaborative and open working culture. Managers and teammates always listen to your concerns, which inspires me to speak up because I know my voice will be heard.

Working in such an international environment, with colleagues from Europe and the USA, has been a great learning experience. I also enjoy our regular fun activities in Pune, when we get together for informal teambuilding activities.

I have become more confident and taken on responsibilities beyond my “day job” that are helping me grow as a person. For example, I’m the captain of our food, health and wellness committee, which gives me the opportunity to meet and help colleagues. We recently organised a blood donation drive through which more than 100 employees voluntarily donated their blood. I am also collaborating on a sustainability project with a dedicated team, focusing on reducing our food and other waste to help protect the environment.

I am passionate about these subjects, and the company supports our involvement in sustainability initiatives. There is scope to take on extra tasks because Vanderlande really cares about our work-life balance – we are not expected to work long days.

Away from work, I’m an active person and take time off every year to do something special. I enjoy high-adrenaline sports and have completed several challenging treks in Northen India. I’m now looking forward to skydiving or perhaps bungee jumping. I’ve overcome many fears through these adventures and believe they have given me the confidence to find the right solutions in my working life.
