Data Analytics Development Manager

I like to discover new places, meet new people and explore different cultures. This relates well to my job as a Development Manager – we’re always looking for new ways to get things done.

I work in Vanderlande’s central analytics team, which focuses on building and delivering data solutions for our business units. Our output provides valuable insights that help different business units to streamline operations, reduce risks and ultimately improve the bottom line of our business.

Our main focus is to build data products and centralise information so that anyone in Vanderlande can gain access to it – no matter where they work. This enables colleagues from different business units to find everything they need in one place. You could say we’re making Vanderlande better, with better data!

The company has certainly given me the platform and opportunity to explore engineering analytics in greater depth than my previous roles. However, it’s not just about the day-to-day work. I really like the company’s employee-driven culture, its emphasis on physical and mental wellbeing, and the fact that managers care about the professional needs of each individual. Our leaders really help people to achieve their goals.

Working in a global environment is also something I really enjoy. As part of my job, I liaise with colleagues across the world – especially those based in The Netherlands and USA – who share the same vision and are enthusiastic about working towards common goals.
Another reason why I enjoy working here is the company’s strong commitment to sustainability – Vanderlande really cares about the future.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to explore new areas of activity and take on more responsibilities. I can honestly say that I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge and confidence – the work and its challenges keep me inspired.

Support from my colleagues has helped me to settle into my job over the past year. I have learned a lot from them since I joined the company, and I am thankful for their assistance.

I’ve been working in business intelligence and data analytics for almost seven years, so I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and technologies. I now want to use my experience and expertise to support others, and guide my fellow team members on their professional journeys. I feel confident that I can help people realise their goals, which in turn will help me to learn valuable leadership skills to boost my career.
