We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer I (mid-level) that will support the North American Warehouse Solutions Team.
Vanderlande’s Engineering Department is responsible for the design, specification, and commissioning of Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortation systems for our customers throughout North America. In this position, you will work with an engineering project team on developing an automated warehouse or parcel sortation system. You will be responsible for ensuring the design meets the customer requirements, is coordinated with other trades to ensure proper operation, can be installed and operated with efficiency, and maintain excellent communication with the site team.
Success in this role involves the ability to balance the technical requirements of the role while also having the soft skills to collaborate with and motivate the engineering team. It also involves working closely with stakeholders from other disciplines and other departments to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals. Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal
skills, drive, and passion. A successful candidate will show keen intuition for when to solve problems on their own and when to enlist other experienced leaders' help.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Develop code compliant electrical systems that meet the customer specifications

Optimize the system functionality from as-sold to a working electrical design within the budget in consultation with other disciplines (Mechanical, Controls, Supply Chain, Installation, etc.)

Perform system and component level calculations to size components and equipment for the application (conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, overcurrent and short circuit protection, control panels, control networks, etc.)

Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applications
-
Apply safety regulations
-
Specify the electrical equipment required for the complete electrical system that operates and controls both Vanderlande manufactured, and third party purchased items

Use software tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Word, Excel, etc.) to develop electrical designs such as wiring diagrams, termination lists, Bill of Materials, etc.

Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions directed to a site supervisor and installation subcontractor

Travel to site as needed to conduct site surveys

Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from the Marietta, GA office

Project document control using a rights-based database system
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
-
Or Associate EE/ET with 8 years related experience
-
Must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 33% with occasional international opportunities

Ability to think conceptually (overall system) and translate this into a detailed system design

Experience designing UL rated control cabinets, designing low voltage power distribution systems, experience working with and programming PLCs
