What will you be doing?  

As Software Architect you will be responsible for the translation of the requirements into software demands, setting up and monitoring the software architecture and for setting up the requirements in case of new functionality. You will meet with System Architect, System Designer and Software Engineer (PLC, Embedded, tooling) to ensure the overall software architecture fits within the required system requirements and performance. 

 

You will lead the process for one or more teams implementing this new software architecture. In a SCRUM-team of professionals your technical knowledge and competencies will be leading and will be the base for your discussions with the System Architect and Product Owner. Apart from your tasks as a Software Architect you will also lead by example by taking up lead development activities within the team. 

 

Responsibilities:

If you’re a pro-active, enthusiastic, result-driven and versatile Software Architect with a pragmatic hands-on attitude, you will excel at: 

  • Implementing software designs and component requirements; 
  • Aligning the software architecture with other software-, and system architects; 
  • Acting as a knowledge holder on the software architecture; 
  • Leading the team as a developer during the implementation phase; 
  • Challenging and influencing team members to excel; 
  • Maintaining the product backlog together with the System Architect and Product Owner; 
  • Hardware selection, design and production in cooperation with external companies. 

 

What do we ask from you?

You should also have the following qualifications / have a working knowledge of: 

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electronics or Information Technology or equivalent; 
  • Experience as a software team lead and/or lead developer in a multi-disciplinary project organization, supporting the Agile methodology; 
  • Knowledge about Material Handling processes, and/or logistic trade and the skills to transfer them, using domain driven design and behavior driven development, into usable concepts and architectures is an advantage; 
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems, ARM Cortex M4 architecture and a selection of contemporary languages and frameworks; 
  • Knowledge of embedded controllers and industrial networks, including field bus, I/O, sensors and actuators.
  • Requirements Management, Change Management, Version Control and Test management tools, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps; 
  • Both oral and written English. Dutch is an advantage.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 5900 to € 7800 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.

The Linesorter teams (approximately 40 FTE) serve both our Parcel and Warehousing customers with high-end automated sorting systems.
